Boomerang South Korea Launches Saturday 14th November
Today (11/11/2015), Turner Broadcasting System Asia-Pacific have announced that Boomerang South Korea will launch this Saturday (14/11/2015). The new Boomerang feed will be available in 15 million homes in South Korea and will be available on major cable and IPTV providers. Like all Boomerang feeds globally, the channel will air animated shows from Warner Bros. Animation such as The Tom and Jerry Show, Looney Tunes and Scooby-Doo, as well as localised Korean programming. Warner Bros. Animation’s latest productions: Wabbit and Bunnicula have also been slated to air on the new Boomerang channel. The Boomerang Watch and Play app will also be localised and be available for the Korean market at a later date. The latest news of Turner’s expansion into South Korea follows news about a new South Korean Cartoon Network, Synergy Media and Studio Goindol co-production called Beat Monsters which was announced in September.
Phil Nelson, MD of Turner International for North Asia made this statement about the new Boomerang feed for South Korea:
“Boomerang’s arrival in Korea will be the perfect accompaniment to Cartoon Network, the country’s No.1 international kids’ channel. Turner has already made a firm commitment to the local animation industry over the years and this investment is set to continue.”
