Infinity Train New Cartoon Network Studios Pilot

Cartoon Network USA has uploaded another new animated pilot today (02/11/2016) onto YouTube called Infinity Train. In Infinity Train, the main protagonist, Tulip, must learn to set her personal interests aside to make her way through a mysterious train and help the king of all corgis save his people. Tulip is aided and accompanied by her robot friend – One-One. Infinity Train as the name implies is a train that goes on forever and each carriage has different world or/and theme, if this show is greenlit there’s a lot of potential for story ideas.

Judging from the short, it’s similar to the Adventure Time episode “Dungeon Train” but with the randomness and surrealness of Regular Show and has an Over The Garden Wall feel too as the main character is trapped in a strange environment.

Infinity Train is created, written and storyboarded by Regular Show’s Owen Dennis, with Over The Garden Wall’s Nick Cross working as Art Director. According to YouTube comments on the pilot’s video so far, viewers reception has been positive, but ultimately it’s Cartoon Network’s decision whether they wish to greenlight the show (same with Victor & Valentino), either as a short-form series on the Cartoon Network Anything app or as an animated series.

Cartoon Network USA has uploaded a new animated pilot today (01/11/2016) onto YouTube called Victor & Valentino, which premiered on the channel on Saturday 29th October. In Victor & Valentino, the two titular characters must to work together to survive an underworld labyrinth.

The animated short has a Mexican Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)/Aztec theme and it seems it has elements of two other Warner Bros./Cartoon Network shows in the mix: ¡Mucha Lucha! and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. Victor & Valentino is created by Diego Molano.

The reason why Cartoon Network Studios produce these shorts is to try out new ideas which could be greenlit as a new animated series.

The next short to be released by Cartoon Network USA is Owen Dennis’s Infinity Train which will be uploaded onto YouTube tomorrow (02/11/2016), the short is already available on Cartoon Network’s VOD service on pay-TV providers in the United States. Owen Dennis is known for his storyboard work on Regular Show.

Last week (08/09/2016), Cartoon Network Mexico announced that they have greenlit their first ever short-form animated show during a session at the Pixelatl Animation, Video Games and Comics Convention in Cuernavaca (near Mexico City). The new animated show is called “Villainous” and is created by Alan Ituriel, known for his production work on the 2011 film – Top Cat: The Movie. The short-form show has been specially developed for the Cartoon Network Anything app.

Hernán La Greca (Senior Creative Director for Cartoon Network Latin America), Jaime Jiménez (Senior Content Manager for Cartoon Network Mexico) and Humberto Cervera (Original Productions in Spanish, Cartoon Network Mexico) also attended the Villainous! session at the festival and also offered potential show creators an opportunity to pitch their ideas to them. In 2015, Cartoon Network opened an office in Mexico City specifically to receive and develop ideas and projects from Mexican artists.

Information about the show’s characters have been posted on the internet, but nothing has been officially posted by Cartoon Network yet, I will keep you informed when more information about the show has been officially released.
