Adventure Time Islands Graphic Novel To Be Released November 2016
KaBOOM! comics (the children’s imprint of BOOM! Studios) and Cartoon Network Enterprises has announced a new Adventure Time graphic novel to be released next month (November 2016) in the United States. The graphic novel is written by Adventure Time show writer Ashly Burch and illustrated by Diigii Daguna. The graphic novel will centre mostly on Bunny Girl (aka Jo) and the story is set 1000 years before the current Adventure Time storyline.
Since February 2012, KaBOOM! has published over 50 issues of the main Adventure Time comic series, eight original graphic novels, several spinoff limited series, and recently launched a new ongoing series called Adventure Time Comics. Adventure Time: Islands has cover art by Braden Lamb & Shelli Paroline and will have a retail price of $9.99 USD. The graphic novel is now available to pre-order at local comic book shops and booksellers.
The Amazing World Of Gumball Graphic Novel To Be Released In November (USA): Medieval Mayhem For Gumball Fans
Great news for Gumball and graphic novel fans, as an Amazing World of Gumball graphic novel will be released in November in the United States. The Amazing World of Gumball is about Gumball Watterson, a 12-year-old cat, and his adopted goldfish brother and best friend, Darwin, other main characters include family members such as intellectual younger sister Anais (a rabbit), workaholic mother Nicole (a cat) and a househusband father, Richard (also a rabbit).
The TV show is set in the fictional city of Elmore which is inhabited by a strange but yet wonderful mixture of residents, the show is also known for its unique art style, combining 2D and 3D CGI animation on photographic backgrounds.
The new graphic novel will be called “The Amazing World of Gumball Vol. 1: Fairy Tale Trouble” and is written by Megan Brennan and illustrated by Katy Farina, and like other Cartoon Network comic publications, it will be published by KaBoom!, an imprint of Boom! Studios. The plot of the graphic novel is that Gumball, Darwin and Anais go to a Renaissance Faire, however, Gumball gets into some trouble with a magician, and as a result, the whole of Elmore becomes a fairytale town. The graphic novel will also feature a short written and illustrated by Jeremy Lawson.
Over The Garden Wall Comic Miniseries With A New Story
KaBOOM!, an imprint of BOOM! Studios, and Cartoon Network Enterprises, have announced that Patrick McHale (creator of Over the Garden Wall) and Jim Campbell (Storyboard Artist) have produced a new four issue Over the Garden Wall comic miniseries. Last November, Cartoon Network debuted the Emmy nominated Over the Garden Wall in the United States, this was CN’s first original animated miniseries. The miniseries story is about two half-brothers called Wirt and Greg trying to find their way home as they’re stuck in the Unknown, a land of mystery and danger. The miniseries featured an all star voice acting cast with Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings Trilogy) as Wirt, Collin Dean (The War at Home) as Greg, and Melanie Lynskey (Two and a Half Men) as Beatrice.
KaBOOM! originally released a one-shot comic for Over The Garden Wall on 5th November last year which was sold out immediately. The story of the comic mini-series will take place between episodes three and four (Schooltown Follies/Songs of the Dark Lantern), Wirt and Greg try to get a ride out of town but end up having to walk. They come across two girls playing and they have to keep them entertained so that they don’t wake their giant father.
The first issue of the Over the Garden Wall comic will be available in comic shops in the United States on Wednesday 26th August (the final order deadline is Monday 3rd August), with cover art by series artist Jim Campbell for $3.99.
