Cartoon Network, Boomerang And Boing To Be Available On New Molotov TV OTT Service In France

In November, a new OTT (Over The Top) internet television service in France called Molotov TV will launch the beta version of their television service. Molotov TV have already signed a deal with Turner Broadcasting System Europe for Cartoon Network France, Boomerang France, Boing France and other Turner channels such as TCM and CNN to be distributed via the new platform.

An OTT service can be accessed by PC’s, mobile phones and tablets that have a connection to the internet, the linear TV channels on the service are streamed via an internet connection. This means no specialist equipment such as a decoder box are required and OTT services are flexible as users can usually activate and deactivate their subscription anytime they wish. Molotov TV isn’t the only OTT service out there, there’s NOW TV in the UK, Magine in Scandinavia and Germany (with a UK beta version) and Sling TV in the United States.

In other news: VUTV, a UK based OTT service that can be accessed through internet enabled Freeview boxes will end their service tomorrow (22/10/2015), their service also carried Cartoon Network UK, Boomerang UK and Cartoonito UK. Other pay-TV services that carry Turner’s channels in the UK and Ireland will not be affected.
