Young Justice Season Three Announced

Yesterday (08/11/2016), Warner Bros. Animation announced that the action-hero animated show – Young Justice will be getting a third season and the show is officially back in production. Based on the DC Comics comic book series, Young Justice is about a bunch of teenage superhero sidekicks working together in a covert operation group called The Team, which is the youth group of the Justice League. The Justice League is a top-tier group of experienced superhero crime-fighters including Batman and Superman. The Young Justice team includes Nightwing, Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and many more.

Sam Register, President of Warner Bros. Animation mentioned that the show was revived from cancellation because of the demands of the show’s loyal fanbase:

“The affection that fans have had for Young Justice, and their rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us. We are excited to bring the show back for this loyal fanbase and to provide an opportunity for new viewers to discover this excellent series.”

Brandon Vietti (Batman: Under the Red Hood, Superman: Doomsday) and Greg Weisman (Star Wars Rebels, Gargoyles, The Spectacular Spider-Man) will be reprising their roles as show producers for the new season, the new season will feature “new twists, turns and dangerous new threats”. No premiere date and broadcaster have been announced yet, but Cartoon Network originally aired the first two seasons. However just because Cartoon Network (through Turner) and Warner Bros are part of the same corporation doesn’t mean Cartoon Network have automatic rights over the show. Cartoon Network currently airs DC Comics’ Teen Titans Go! which has been a ratings hit in the United States, the channel will also premiere DC Comics’ latest animated show – Justice League Action this autumn.
