San Diego Comic Con 2016 Cartoon Network Events

In the last four days (21/07/2016 – 24/07/2016), a lot has happened at the San Diego Comic-Con International 2016 convention, so here’s a summary of the rest of the Cartoon Network events.

John DiMaggio (voice of Jake the Dog), plays the Card Wars trading card game with Adventure Time fans, making Make-A-Wish kids’ dreams come true, another Make-A-Wish family met the cast of Steven Universe.

The Cartoon Network Collective stand, showcasing high-quality artwork of Cartoon Network’s most popular shows with autographs given out by the artists:

Amanda Leighton (voice actress for Blossom in The Powerpuff Girls reboot series) taken over Cartoon Network’s twitter account. The cast of The Powerpuff Girls appeared at an autograph signing event and Q&A panel and promoted the new toy range, also there was a sneak preview for an upcoming Powerpuff Girls episode.

Powerpuff Girls writers Haley Mancini and Jake Goldman joined the IDW Comics Kids panel:

Zach Callison (voice of Steven Universe) taken over Cartoon Network’s Twitter account for a behind-the-scenes sneak peek behind the Steven Universe musical panel:

The cast of Steven Universe sung various songs from the show in the Steven Sing-A-Verse event:

There was also a special sneak peek of the Beach City Drift episode:

Lucky fans got to meet the We Bare Bears cast Eric Edelstein (Grizz), Bobby Moynihan (Panda) and Demetri Martin (Ice Bear) in an autograph session, Eric Edelstein also taken over Cartoon Network’s Twitter account.

We Bare Bears fans got to ask Daniel Chong (the show’s creator) as well as the rest of the cast and crew questions about the show at the panel:

A special We Bare Bears sneak-peek featuring Ice Bear showing off his cool (in both senses of the word) new mode of transportation was shown during the panel:

Over The Garden Wall creator – Patrick McHale did a special signing session for convention exclusive copies of Tome of the Unknown and he also took part in a comics panel.

Teen Titans Go! panel and autograph signings with the cast and crew at the Warner Bros. booth:

The cast and crew for Warner Bros. Animation’s upcoming new series – Justice League Action were also at the Warner Bros. booth, meeting and greeting fans:

Last but definitely not least, a special sneak peek for the upcoming Regular Show: In Space special that will air on Cartoon Network USA this autumn:

Last Sunday (19/06/2016), I wrote a blog post about the Cartoon Network Collective, today (23/06/2016) Cartoon Network USA have released more information about the new artist and merchandising programme. The Cartoon Network Collective is an exclusive limited-edition product offering designed by some of today’s most celebrated artists, offering their unique artistic interpretation of Cartoon Network’s animated shows. The Cartoon Network Collective is exclusive to the online Cartoon Network Shop (a collaboration of Cartoon Network Enterprises, shop licensee Bolder Road and Horizon Line Studios).

From a short while after launch, the collective will include designs from ten different artists which will appear on limited edition and limited-time only posters, clothing, phone cases, high-end notebooks and more. The collective section of the website will have behind-the-scenes content from some of Cartoon Network’s hit shows and videos featuring the artists taking part in the collective.

So far, Cartoon Network have signed up ten artists that are currently designing artwork for the collective:

Exclusive e-commerce Program Features Popular Artist’s Interpretations of Cartoon Network Hit Animated Series

Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE), the prolific consumer products arm of Cartoon Network, announced today the launch of The Cartoon Network Collective (The Collective), an exclusive limited-edition product offering linking some of today’s most celebrated artists to Cartoon Network Original Series. The Collective, which will live exclusively on Cartoon Network Shop, is a collaboration between CNE, current Cartoon Network Shop licensee Bolder Road, and the newly-formed Horizon Line Studios.

Created specifically to serve a growing group of savvy collectors and Cartoon Network fans, The Collective’s launch offering includes designs from ten different artists and will be featured in an array of highly curated products including limited edition posters, apparel, phone cases, high-end notebooks and more. Each month, the collection will be refreshed and new artists will present their interpretations of Cartoon Network Original Series.

Cartoon Network Shop Launches Cartoon Network Collective

The USA version of the Cartoon Network Shop has launched a new section dedicated limited edition artwork posters produced by well-respected artists such as Anthony Petrie and Missy Pena at launch

The Collective offers limited-edition posters that are sold on a timed release. Once the timer expires, no more orders are taken and the number of posters sold is the size of the edition. The specially designed poster is then retired forever. The collective is offering the same artwork on gifts like shirts and phone cases, except these are sold as an open edition without limits. At the moment, the CN Collective is offering Over The Garden Wall and Steven Universe artwork.

As the collective expands it will feature interviews, behind-the-scenes, work-in-progress content and much more. The collective is also open to input and any feedback to make improvements is appreciated.
