The Amazing World Of Gumball Merchandise For Iberia And Eastern Europe

Relating to Brand Licencing Europe 2016, Cartoon Network and Licence Global have announced licensees and upcoming merchandise for The Amazing World of Gumball most particularly in Iberia (Spain and Portugal) and Central and Eastern Europe, below is a list of existing and upcoming deals relating to the show:

In Spain and Portugal, Gumball toys made by Simba, Play by Play, Comansi and Fournier have already been released. Norma has launched a The Amazing World of Gumball comic in May this year, with Devir and Goody holding the publishing license for the show in Portugal.

In terms of bags and stationary, Karactermania has launched their range of Gumball bags and stationery, new licensees also include Cife (stationery), Continente (accessories) and Erik Group (stationery).

Spanish department store chain El Corte Inglés are debuting a line of Gumball themed kids’ nightwear and clothing, kidswear retailer Zippy is also launching their range. Astro Europa will be producing a range of accessories for sale at Portuguese hypermarket company Continente and Spanish cake accessories supplier deKora.

In Poland and Romania, Cartoon Network has launched fashion, housewares and back-to-school products this autumn, more products will be released in 2017. Also in Romania, Total Office has launched its back-to-school product range. In Poland, Reserved Kids and E Plus M (LLP SA) have launched a Gumball clothing range at Auchan, Verte debuted its stationery line and Carbotex launched its “Gumball” bed linen. Cartoon Network have made a partnership deal with Fruitella (Perfetti Van Melle) for a Gumball promotion supported by digital, social media and in-store branding.

Cartoon Network India Licencing Ambitions

Cartoon Network Enterprises, the licencing division for Turner and Warner Bros. in India will be expanding into new South Asian markets such as Sri Lanka and Nepal, part of their expansion plans include partnerships with some of the world’s largest food manufacturers such as Unilever and Kellogg’s.

Cartoon Network Enterprises will be seeking more collaboration with retailers and is promoting the relaunch of The Powerpuff Girls and Ben 10 for potential licencees as well as DC Comics characters such as Wonder Woman, Justice League, Aqua Man and Flash. A 2017 preview of CNE’s plans were unveiled at a specially organised roadshow in Mumbai, India yesterday (20/09/2016), in which over 200 trade partners expressed an interest in Cartoon Network’s and Warner Bros.’s current and future movie and television IP’s.

Turner India’s licensing and merchandising arm is aiming for a strong double digit growth this year as it expands into new South Asia markets of Sri Lanka and Nepal in partnership with some of the biggest FMCG brands including Perfetti, Heinz, Unilever, Parle, Mondelez, United Biscuits and Kellogg’s.

As part of its expansion plans, CNE will seek more collaboration with players from retail, e-commerce and FMCG sectors to increase its footprint, and strengthen its leadership position in the market. In line with this growth strategy, CNE has also partnered with Myntra and Future Group. Besides the re-launch of the ever popular global franchise The Powerpuff Girls, CNE will also be focusing on a strong roster of DC movies from Warner Bros. that includes Wonder Woman, Justice League, Aqua Man and Flash.

All this and a preview to plans for 2017 were unveiled at the Cartoon Network Enterprises roadshow on September 20, in Mumbai with over 200 trade partners attending this showcase of Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. extensive portfolio of current and future IPs, TV shows and movies.

We are looking at driving strategic partnerships across various categories in the coming months and providing different touch points for our fans to experience our brand. A brand new series of the multi-million-dollar franchise, Ben 10 is launching as part of an international premiere on Cartoon Network in October and an extensive new product catalogue will be announced soon after.

The ToyNews website has reported that Cartoon Network has made toy licensing deals for Steven Universe with several toy manufacturers such as Funko, Just Toys International, PhatMojo, Toy Factory and Zag Toys. Steven Universe is one of Cartoon Network’s biggest animated hits, each episode follows Steven and his Crystal Gem friends, their mission is to protect the planet and humanity by using their special and unique powers.

Funko will release POP Vinyl Figures of Steven Universe characters, including Steven himself as well as the Crystal Gems (Amethyst, Pearl and Garnet). The POP Vinyl Figures will be released in time for Christmas 2015. Just Toys International will be releasing Steven Universe themed “blind bags” which contain dog tags, fun packs and 3D backpack hangers.

Both Toy Factory in spring 2016 and PhatMojo in 2017 will launch a range of character plush toys as well as plush novelty items, meanwhile Zag Toys will release collectable mini figures such as bobble heads.
