Cartoon Network UK Long Live The Royals Premieres 6th September

For four days from Tuesday 6th September, Cartoon Network UK and Ireland will be giving the royal treatment to a brand new miniseries – Long Live The Royals. The new miniseries was created by Sean Szeles, better known for his work as supervising producer on Regular Show. The new miniseries is based on the Emmy Award-winning animated short of the same name. The show has also recently won an Creative Arts Emmy in the Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation category, credited to Chris Tsirgiotis for his work as Background Designer.

Long Live The Royals is an animated comedy about a royal family but with the social dynamics of an average modern family dealing with the stressful job of ruling over a medieval kingdom. The miniseries will follow the royal family from their prospective during the week long Yule Hare Festival, a time of celebration, food, entertainment, and humour. Voice acting talent include Jon Daly as King Rufus, Jane Horrocks as Queen Eleanor (UK version), Wendi McLendon-Covey as Queen Eleanor (USA version), Gillian Jacobs as Princess Rosalind, Kieran Culkin as Prince Peter and Nicki Rapp as Prince Alex.

All four episodes of Long Live The Royals will premiere over four consecutive nights beginning Tuesday 6th September at 6pm on Cartoon Network UK.

Cartoon Network Wins Three 2016 Creative Arts Emmys

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences have already announced some Creative Arts Emmy award winners ahead of the official Creative Arts Emmy Awards event on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September and Cartoon Network was among the winners.

Cartoon Network won a total of three Creative Arts Emmys, two for Adventure Time and one for Long Live The Royals in the “Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation” category, the three awards were for individual members of production staff that made an outstanding contribution not only just on the show they worked on but also in the field of animation as a whole, the award winners were decided by a jury.

Also congratulations to Scott DaRos, a character animator on Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken who won an Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation award for his work on the 3rd Robot Chicken DC Comics Special: Magical Friendship.

The 2016 Creative Arts Emmy Awards will formally take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September. The awards ceremony will air on Sunday 17th September at 8pm ET/PT on FXX in the United States.

Cartoon Network And Adult Swim Wins Creative Arts Emmys: Congratulations To Everyone Who Won An Award

Yesterday (12/09/2015) was the 2015 Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles and productions made by Cartoon Network have won a total of six Creative Arts Emmys. Adult Swim also won two Emmys in the Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation category.

Cartoon Network have won an award in the Outstanding Short-format Animated Program category for the Adventure Time episode, Jake the Brick, also they won an Outstanding Animated Program award for Over The Garden Wall, created by Patrick McHale.

The following have won an award in the Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation category for Cartoon Network Productions:

Tom Herpich, Storyboard Artist for Adventure Time won for his work on the Walnuts & Rain episode.

Nick Cross, won an award for Production Design for Over The Garden Wall and also won another award for Background Painter for the Over The Garden Wall’s pilot, Tome of the Unknown.

Chris Tsirgiotis, won an award for Background Layout Designer on Tome of the Unknown.

The following have won an award in the Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation category for Adult Swim Productions:

JJ Villard, won an award for Character Design on King Star King for the Fat Frank’s Fantasy Lounge episode.

Bradley Schaffer, won an award for Character Animation on Robot Chicken for the Bitch Pudding Special episode.
