Matthias Heinze The New General Manager Of Cartoon Network Poland, CEE And RSEE

Matthias Heinze, the current Commercial Vice President for Turner Central and Eastern Europe now has general manager responsibilities over all of Turner’s channels in Poland, Central Eastern Europe and Russia and Southeastern Europe with immediate effect, including Cartoon Network Poland, Cartoon Network CEE, Cartoon Network RSEE and Boomerang CEE. Mr Heinze will continue to report to Hannes Heyelmann, the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Turner Central and Eastern Europe.

Hannes Heyelmann made this statement (translated) about Mr Heinze’s appointment as general manager for Turner Eastern Europe:

“Over the last two years, Matthias Heinze was responsible for the region of Central and Eastern Europe as Commercial Vice President, making him an expert in the eastern European television market. The takeover of the functions of General Manager gives us confidence that we are very well positioned to take advantage of growth opportunities of our business, we can now open up to growing markets.”

Cartoon Network’s New Unified International Management Direction

Cartoon Network is in the process of having a more unified international strategy by strengthening the relationship between Turner USA and Turner International. Turner EMEA’s SVP and chief content and creative officer for kids, Patricia Hidalgo will now also be responsible for Turner International’s Kids Strategy and will liaise with Turner USA’s production teams.

Hannes Heyelmann, the SVP and MD for Turner Central and Eastern Europe will now have responsibilities over Turner International’s Original Programming Strategy and will also communicate with the USA based production teams. When appointed in July 2014, the then-new President of Cartoon Network, Christina Miller stated that there needs to be a global strategy for Turner’s kids channels.

Cartoon Network Poland HD Launched Today: High Definition Feed Launches A Month Early

Today (14/10/2015), Cartoon Network Poland HD launched on Polish satellite provider, Cyfrowy Polsat. The new HD feed was proposed to launch in November, it was announced by Hannes Heyelmann, the executive vice president for Turner Broadcasting in Central Europe and Eastern Europe back in July, the HD feed’s launch date was pushed forward to 14th October. The new HD feed will allow viewers to watch Cartoon Network’s animated shows such as Adventure Time and Steven Universe in High Definition.

Last month, Cartoon Network Poland completed the transition to 16:9 widescreen. A new entertainment channel called TNT also launched in the Polish market on 6th October, replacing TCM and Turner Broadcasting System Europe have plans to rollout the channel to other countries that don’t currently have the channel.
