Cartoon Network Anything Launches In Africa 26th January
Cartoon Network’s random short-form entertainment mobile app – Cartoon Network Anything will launch in Africa on Thursday 26th January. The app features mini-games, short clips and quizzes all relating to Cartoon Network’s most popular animated shows, as well as original animated content specially produced for the app. The rollout of the Cartoon Network Anything app in Africa, follows rollouts in the United States, the United Kingdom, Mainland Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. The Cartoon Network Anything app will be available to download for iOS (iTunes App Store) and Android (Google Play) devices.

Cartoon Network USA has uploaded the intro to Adventure Time Islands and is now available to watch on YouTube. The miniseries will premiere on Monday 30th January at 7.30pm (ET/PT) with two new episodes airing every night for four nights, concluding on Thursday 2nd February. In Adventure Time: Islands, Finn, Jake, BMO and Susan Strong go on a expedition across the seas to explore new lands and along the way they’ll encounter new creatures and new islands. The mini-series will solve one of Adventure Time’s biggest mysteries – What happened to all the humans?
Before the miniseries premieres on Cartoon Network, Adventure Time: Islands will be released on DVD, iTunes, Amazon Video and Google Play in the United States on Tuesday 24th January for $14.97 SRP.

Cartoon Network’s Emmy and Peabody Award-winning Adventure Time returns this January with Adventure Time: Islands, an eight-part journey into Finn the Human’s mysterious past beginning Monday, Jan. 30 and concluding Thursday 2nd Feb at 7:30 p.m. (ET, PT) on Cartoon Network. The four-night special event will answer one of the series’ most-asked questions: What happened to the humans?
But first, fans can see Islands on DVD, iTunes, Amazon Video and Google Play ahead of its linear premiere. All eight episodes plus exclusive new content including animatics, an art gallery and song demos will be available on Tuesday, Jan. 24 for the suggested retail price of $14.97.
In Adventure Time: Islands, Finn (voiced by Jeremy Shada), Jake (John DiMaggio), BMO (Niki Yang) and Susan Strong (Jackie Buscarino) leave the Land of Ooo to embark on a quest of epic proportions across the ocean and into new lands – encountering new creatures, discovering new islands and using teamwork along the way.
Adventure Time: Islands comes on the heels of Adventure Time: Stakes, the series’ first eight-part miniseries following Marceline the Vampire Queen. Stakes debuted on Cartoon Network in November 2015 to phenomenal success, ranking as the #1 program in its time period with all key kids and boys audiences. Adventure Time storyboard artist Tom Herpich was also awarded an Emmy in 2016 for Stakes’ conclusion, “The Dark Cloud.”
Cartoon Network’s original animated series, Adventure Time, has received numerous entertainment award citations, including six Emmys (12 nominations), the prestigious Peabody Award and BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Award. In 2015, Adventure Time won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Short-format Animated Program and won for the episode “Jake The Brick.” Adventure Time is created by Pendleton Ward and produced at Cartoon Network Studios.
The Powerpuff Girls: Tiara Trouble USA DVD Release Tuesday 14th February
Cartoon Network will be releasing a Powerpuff Girls DVD on Tuesday 14th February, the DVD named “Tiara Trouble” will feature 12 memorable episodes from the newly rebooted series, this includes the episode “Once Upon a Townsville” which was nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Short Form Animated Program category, and “Viral Spiral,” the highest rated episode to date so far in the United States. The DVD will be on sale for $14.97 (SRP).

The Amazing World of Gumball Assets Now Available For Scratch Programming Language
Cartoon Network USA have provided graphical assets including backgrounds and characters for use in THE Scratch Programming Language. With the Scratch Programming Language, kids are able to code and animated their own stories by selecting a set of instructions that interacts with the graphics on the screen. Cartoon Network USA set up their own STEAM (Science, Technology Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) advisory board to help organise their education-based initiatives, the news was announced as part of Computer Science Week (05/12/2016 to 11/12/2016). Cartoon Network has collaborated with MIT Media Lab’s Scratch Foundation to provide programming tutorials using characters from We Bare Bears and The Powerpuff Girls.
