Cartoon Network has bid farewell to Regular Show by hosting a special screening of the show’s big finale on Thursday night (12/01/2017) at the AMC Burbank 16 movie theater. The show’s creator and voice of Mordecai, JG Quintel attended the screening with a large group of his production crew. After the screening, JG Quintel, William Salyers (voice of Rigby), Minty Lewis (storyboard artist and voice of Eileen) and Curtis Lelash, SVP of original series at Cartoon Network came to the front of the screen for a special final Q&A session.

Many fans were laughing and crying throughout the epic finale, the show’s production staff found it difficult to let go after eight seasons and over 250 episodes. Minty Lewis commented “This feels like a funeral right now.”. JG Quintel also commented “It was neat to get to hear people react to the show one last time, because that’s not gonna happen anymore”. William Salyers also said “It was six amazing years of my life, it was never not fun to go to work, and you can’t say that about a lot of jobs”.

Regular Show – “A Regular Show Epic Final Battle” will air Monday 16th January at 6pm (ET/PT) on Cartoon Network USA. Robert Englund (known for his role as Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare On Elm Street) will guest star as Anti-Pops.

Cartoon Network USA have uploaded a sneak peek clip of the upcoming Regular Show: In Space story arc, the clip is from the “One Space Day At A Time” episode which is the first episode of season 8. Regular Show season 8 (aka Regular Show: In Space) premieres Monday 26th September. In the sneak peek, we see Mordecai and Rigby and their friends stuck in a dome covering the park and stranded in space, they have no way of communication and they can’t leave, but as there no immediate solution they decided to calm down and take it one day at a time.

Season 8 will be the Regular Show’s final season, but this space story arc looks promising and it looks like the show will go out with a bang, complete with its usual surreal plotline and humour. Premiering in 2010, Regular Show went on to win an Emmy and several nominations. The show was created by J.G. Quintel, known for his previous work as a creative director on The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, during the course of the show’s length, a couple of people from Regular Show’s production staff went on to create other projects, including Sean Szeles’s Long Live The Royals and Minty Lewis’s (Voice of Eileen) Bottom’s Butte animated pilot.
