Cartoon Network Asia-Pacific Acquires Freaktown Broadcasting Rights

Cartoon Network Asia-Pacific has purchased the broadcasting rights for a new animated show called Freaktown. Freaktown is the first series to be wholly created and produced by Portfolio Entertainment’s new animation studio. The series was commissioned by Teletoon in Canada and will start to air in 2016. Freaktown is an animated kids show aimed at the 6 to 11 year old demographic which follows the adventures of skeleton Ben Bones and his friends as they protect their town from Princess Boo Boo of Sweetlandia. The series will premiere on Cartoon Network feeds in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand. In Europe, Turner France has brought the rights and it will air on Boing which also airs in other French speaking European and African territories. Initially, there will be 52 segments that are 11 minutes long each.

Portfolio Entertainment CEO and co-founder Joy Rosen made this statement about the broadcasting rights deal:
