For the first time ever, Cartoon Network USA and Adult Swim will be teaming up with its Turner Broadcasting System counterparts (CNN, HLN, TBS, TNT, truTV and Turner Sports) for a united Turner 2015 upfront event at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York on Wednesday 13th May. For the very first time, Boomerang will be making a upfront for its new shows in 2015, as the channel is now moving away from being a cartoon archive channel and will start to air new shows.
The main purpose for the united upfront is because data analytics proves that TV channel demographics is a lot more complex than originally thought, as there is more than just a primary audience group. Turner’s investment in audience analytics will become insightful for advertisers on how to target their potential customers to advertise their products and services. Also the upfront will be emphasizing the importance of mobile devices to target their audiences with appropriate content.
Turner Broadcasting President David Levy, made this statement in regards of the upfront:
