The popular Japanese anime series – Yo-Kai Watch – will premiere on the Toonami Asia channel this weekend and new episodes will air every Saturday and Sunday at 10.15am (Hong Kong/Singapore Time) as part of the Anime Siege programming block.
Turner Asia-Pacific has acquired 65 half-hour episodes of Yo-Kai Watch and will be available exclusively in most countries that receive Toonami Asia. Made by Dentsu in Japan, the anime is about a boy who discovers a magical watch that introduces him to a group of creatures called Yo-kai, he teams up with these creatures to battle the other troublesome Yo-kai in the town where he lives.
Mark Eyers, chief content officer and VP—Network, Kids at Turner International Asia Pacific made this statement about the new show:
“Yo-Kai Watch is the perfect complement to Toonami’s dynamic anime lineup. We’ve seen kids in North Asia react so positively to this unique series with its eccentric and surprising characters—and uplifting music. In both Japan and Korea, the franchise’s success has extended way beyond the screen to become a genuine phenomenon loved by both kids and families. We can’t wait to see Yo-Kai Watch enthrall Toonami’s audiences in South and Southeast Asia.”
