Adult Swim Canada VOD Service Launches Soon
According to Canadian media news website, Broadcaster Magazine, Corus Entertainment (the company that operates Cartoon Network and Adult Swim in Canada on behalf of Turner), will launch an SVOD (subscription video-on-demand) Adult Swim service for the price of $3.99 (CAD) a month with a free trial. The SVOD service will be accessible via the Adult Swim app available via iTunes and Google Play for iOS and Android devices respectively.
The SVOD service will allow the user to access more than 400 hours of original content, including hit shows such as Rick and Morty, The Venture Bros. and Robot Chicken, also new episodes will be added to the service after they premiere in the United States or on the Adult Swim Canada channel, depending on the show.
Christina Miller, president and general manager of Turner’s Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang made this statement regarding the future launch of the Adult Swim Canada SVOD service:
“We continue to experiment with opportunities to reach our fans and give them access to all of our original content, Adult Swim’s core audience is a younger generation who wants to consume content on their screen of choice, and this direct-to-consumer offering satisfies this demand by making our most popular programming more widely available in the Canadian marketplace.”
