Villainous First Ever Short Form Show From Cartoon Network Mexico
Last week (08/09/2016), Cartoon Network Mexico announced that they have greenlit their first ever short-form animated show during a session at the Pixelatl Animation, Video Games and Comics Convention in Cuernavaca (near Mexico City). The new animated show is called “Villainous” and is created by Alan Ituriel, known for his production work on the 2011 film – Top Cat: The Movie. The short-form show has been specially developed for the Cartoon Network Anything app.
Hernán La Greca (Senior Creative Director for Cartoon Network Latin America), Jaime Jiménez (Senior Content Manager for Cartoon Network Mexico) and Humberto Cervera (Original Productions in Spanish, Cartoon Network Mexico) also attended the Villainous session at the festival and also offered potential show creators an opportunity to pitch their ideas to them. In 2015, Cartoon Network opened an office in Mexico City specifically to receive and develop ideas and projects from Mexican artists.
Information about the show’s characters have been posted on the internet, but nothing has been officially posted by Cartoon Network yet, I will keep you informed when more information about the show has been officially released.
