Cartoon Network And Pixelatl Launches Pitch Me Evolution Contest
Cartoon Network Latin America and the annual Pixelatl animation festival in Cuernavaca, Mexico have teamed up for another Pitch Me competition, this year’s competition has the title “Pitch Me Evolution”. The competition is an opportunity for aspiring animators to pitch their animated show ideas in front of content executives from Cartoon Network Latin America. Last year’s competition – “Pitch Me Anything” was an opportunity for animators to put forward their ideas for short-form cartoons for the Cartoon Network Anything app. Back in 2014, Alan Ituriel pitched his “Villainous” show idea for the Ideatoon contest at Pixelatl and it attracted the attention of Cartoon Network Latin America executives. Villainous started off from a concept and now it’s an animated short series which has been highly received by animation fans on the internet.
Competition participants must be over 18 years old and live in Latin America. The proposed animated short must have humour and must have a unique and innovative format that appeals to children aged between 6 and 11 years old and the proposed project must fit in well with Cartoon Network’s existing programming. Cartoon Network are looking for projects that could possibly be turned into 7 to 11-minute episodes for their YouTube channel. A maximum of fifteen finalists will be selected and the winner of the competition will get their pitch bible turned into an animated pilot.
The project submission deadline is Monday 17th July and the winner will be announced at the end of the Pixelatl animation festival. This year’s Pixelatl festival will be held between 5th-10th September.
