Turner USA Marie Hughes Promoted to Senior Vice President, Strategic Media Planning and Michael Tatum to Senior Vice President, Turner Brand Experience

Today (05/02/2018), Cartoon Network’s owners – Turner has announced that they’ve promoted Marie Hughes to Senior Vice President, Strategic Media Planning, and Michael Tatum to Senior Vice President, Turner Brand Experience, both Marie and Michael will continue to report to Molly Battin, EVP, Global Chief Communications and Corporate Marketing Officer at Turner’s world headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Marie oversees all paid linear and digital media planning for Turner’s Kids, News, General Entertainment and Sports brands including Adult Swim, Boomerang, Cartoon Network, CNN, Bleacher Report, TBS, TNT, and Turner Sports. Her past experience also includes organising television show launch campaigns for HBO’s True Blood and Game of Thrones.

Michael and his team manage Turner’s brand identity, production and maintenance of the corporate internet and intranet sites, production and delivery of branded assets, employee engagement activations, logo monitoring and fulfillment, photography, and branded environments and presentations, he joined Turner in 1996, working in the company’s home entertainment division.

Turner today announced the promotions of Marie Hughes to Senior Vice President, Strategic Media Planning, and Michael Tatum to Senior Vice President, Turner Brand Experience. Both executives are based in Atlanta and will continue to report to Molly Battin, EVP, Global Chief Communications and Corporate Marketing Officer for Turner.

Hughes oversees all paid linear and digital media planning duties for Adult Swim, Boomerang, Cartoon Network, CNN, TBS, TNT, and Turner Sports. Recently, she has added the responsibility and oversight of all Turner cross promotion for the Turner portfolio of networks and digital assets, including CNN.com and Bleacher Report.

Tatum has led the transformation of creating a consistent global brand presence for Turner. He and his team manage Turner’s brand identity, production and maintenance of the corporate internet and intranet sites, production and delivery of branded assets, employee engagement activations, logo monitoring and fulfillment, photography, and branded environments and presentations.

Before joining Turner in 2014, Hughes served as Senior Brand Group Director at Horizon Media in New York, as well as positions at PHD, Oxygen and MPG. Her career highlights include supporting the award-winning launch campaign for the History Channel’s mini-series Hatfields & McCoys, and working on series launches for True Blood and Game of Thrones. Hughes holds a bachelor’s in communications and media studies from New York University.

Tatum, first joined the company in 1996 as part of Turner Home Entertainment. He began his career as a public relations coordinator for GodwinGroup Advertising Agency in Jackson, Mississippi, and holds a bachelor’s in corporate journalism from Auburn University.
