Equal gender rights is currently a main subject within the media industry, whether it’s against the discrimination of woman or equal pay. Cartoon Network is an all-inclusive employer and does not discriminate on gender, sexual orientation, race or disability, they’re only interested if job candidates and employees have the skills for the job and if they’re a good fit for the company. To help tackle this ongoing issue, Cartoon Network is making an effort for the next generation of animation talent to break though, especially woman who aspire to work in the animation industry. Some of the most influential people working at the channel are in fact female, including the President of Cartoon Network – Christina Miller and also Rebecca Sugar – the creator of Steven Universe, who is also Cartoon Network’s first ever female solo show creator.
