Cartoon Network Southeast Asia New Show Summer Camp Island Premieres Friday 25th January

Next Friday (25th January), Cartoon Network Southeast Asia will be premiering a brand new Cartoon Network original series – Summer Camp Island. The new show is about two best friends named Oscar and Hedgehog staying at a magical summer camp full of mystery and wonder. On Summer Camp Island, anything can happen and exist, it’s a whimsical place populated with witches and talking sharks and monsters hiding underneath beds. The animated series is created by Julia Pott, who previously worked as a writer on Cartoon Network’s long running series – Adventure Time.

Summer Camp Island premieres on Cartoon Network Southeast Asia on Friday 25th January at 7pm Singapore/Malaysia and on the Philippines sub-feed at 6.45pm. Summer Camp Island premiered on Cartoon Network Australia on 18th January and Boing Spain premiered the show yesterday (19th January).

Cartoon Network India and Reliance Entertainment Digital’s Zapak have teamed up to launch a new Ben 10 themed game called “Ben 10 Alien Run”. The game features the alien-transforming boy hero – Ben who fights against intergalactic villains with the help of his watch-like device – the Omnitrix.

In the new game, players will collect coins on the run which can be used for power-ups and to transform into various aliens, power-ups can include magnet shields, double coins and mystery boxes that have character tokens to unlock all alien transformations. In the new game, there’s also daily challenges where players can unlock extra rewards, there’s also various single-use items like a Hoverboard and also the Rustbucket to boost running speed and free mystery boxes every few hours. Within the first five days after the game’s launch, the game has attracted 800,000 players who have completed at total of 12 million runs. The game is free to download but contains in-app purchases.

Today (10th January), Cartoon Network Studios has announced that they’ve renewed the popular animated sci-fi franchise Ben 10 for a fourth season, which means its still “hero time” at least for the foreseeable future, Ben 10 season four will debut in 2020. In the new season, Ben, his cousin Gwen and Grandpa Max will travel to different locations all over the world including Italy, Japan and Mexico. Season four will keep fans entertained with new alien transformations and alien battles, also Ben will find a special key that will upgrade his Omnitrix to add “Omni-Kix” armor enhancements to his aliens giving him some extra defence in battle.

Ben 10 is currently in its third season, more episodes will be airing later in January on Cartoon Network feeds in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region, the United States and Latin America will follow in Feburary and the Asia-Pacific region in March. There’s plenty in the third season for fans to get excited about including new aliens, vehicles and villains and the debut of a new character that originated from the original series of Ben 10 before the reboot – Kevin 11, who will be Ben’s 11-year-old nemesis in upcoming episodes. Kevin 11 developed a custom version of the Omnitrix called the “Anti-trix” of which he can activate to produce alternative versions of Ben 10’s aliens. Season three will have a lot of travelling too, as Ben and his family will go on trips around the world on the new “Omni-Copter” and they will travel to Asia, Europe and South America.

In the third quarter of 2018, Ben 10 was watched by 128 million people with 56 million children watching the show worldwide. The show is produced by Cartoon Network Studios and created and executive produced by Man of Action Entertainment (Big Hero 6, Generator Rex, Mega Man: Fully Charged, Bakugan Battle Planet), with John Fang (Mixels, Generator Rex) as executive producer.
