New Mobile Game: Mixels Rush

Mixels Rush

From the Turner UK Press Release:

This week, Cartoon Network launched “Mixels Rush”, a brand-new mobile app inspired by the network’s unique and popular animated shorts. “Mixels Rush” encourages players to use awesome new Mixels and make crazy combinations to outrun the cloud of stampeding Nixels!

Featuring a host of new Mixel characters from tribes both new and old – including the Frosticons, Klinkers, Orbitons, Glowkies, Lixers, Infernites, Munchos, Glorp Corp and Weldos – the Mixels need help to overcome obstacles and stay ahead of the Nixelstorm. Mixels can be made even more powerful by mixing them together, or combining three Mixels from the same tribe to create an unstoppable Max.

Players will also be offered an array of items: some can be used for speed, some can be used on the Nixels, but whatever you do don’t let those pesky Nixels catch up or it will be game over.

Hit the ground running with “Mixels Rush” – available now from the App Store, Google Play and Amazon.

Sky UK To Increase Kids On-Demand Content By Almost 600%, Including Cartoon Network Shows

Sky, the British satellite TV provider, announced today (21/05/2015) that they will increase their episode library of children shows on their on-demand service from 700 episodes to 4000 episodes, an increase of almost 600%. A content deal was signed with Turner Broadcasting System and with many other content producers and distributors such as Viacom, BBC, Silvergate, Zodiak and DHX Media. Adventure Time and Ben 10 are some of the shows that will be included in deal. As the amount of kids content has increased, the shows will now be accessible via a dedicated on-demand service which will be classed as a new channel tab on Sky’s electronic programming guide.

Sky’s Brand Director of TV Products, Luke Bradley-Jones made this statement about the children’s content deal:

“I know from my own kids that they just want to watch their favourite TV characters including Ben and Dora whenever they can. And parents want the convenience of a quick and simple way to access lots of episodes all in one place. That’s why we’re massively expanding the variety and number of shows available on demand – and putting them front and centre of the Sky+ TV Guide. For our customers it means a huge library of kids shows, all there at the touch of a button.”
