Boing Africa Channel Launch Preview Promo


A channel launch preview promo for Boing Africa was uploaded to Vimeo yesterday, judging from the promo, the channel has similar to its French and Italian counterparts in terms of presentation and the promo features some of the animated shows that broadcast on the channel including: Dreamworks Dragons: Riders of Berk, Codename: Kids Next Door, Angelo Rules, Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Courage The Cowardly Dog, Johnny Bravo and Dexter’s Laboratory.

Boing Africa launched on 30th May and was launched in response of the rapidly growing African pay-TV market and will be marketed alongside its sister channels, Cartoon Network and Boomerang. Turner Broadcasting System was also at the DISCOP Africa convention in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, last Wednesday (03/06/2015), to promote the new channel and to announce their new strategy for the African market. Boing Africa is only currently available on Montage Cable in Nigeria and MobileTV.

Cartoon Network Buys Sonic Boom Broadcast Rights For Cartoon Network Arabic, Cartoon Network Japan And Cartoon Network Australia

According to Worldscreen today (09/06/2015), Cartoon Network has also purchased the broadcast rights for Sonic Boom for Cartoon Network Arabic, Cartoon Network Japan and Cartoon Network Australia. The new French-American 3D CGI series based on the popular Japanese game franchise features the adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends against his arch-nemesis, Dr Eggman. The show already airs on Cartoon Network in the USA, Boomerang in the UK and on Cartoon Network in Brazil and Latin America.

Over the last couple of days (08/06/2015 – 09/06/2015), more details about the new upcoming The Powerpuff Girls series revival has been revealed. It has emerged that there will be slight changed to character designs compared to the original but not as drastic as the Dance Pantsed special that aired last year on Cartoon Network feeds worldwide. The series, due to be broadcast on Cartoon Network next year, will have three new voice actresses for Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, Amanda Leighton, Kristen Li and Natalie Palamides respectively, replacing Cathy Cavadini, Tara Strong and E.G. Daily. Despite these changes, Tom Kenny will reprise his role as the show’s Narrator and Mayor. The show’s creator, Craig McCracken will have no involvement in the production, the series will be executive produced by Nick Jennings, who won an Emmy for his work on Adventure Time, and Bob Boyle creator of Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! will also co-executive produce. It was already announced that a licensing deal with Spin Master for Powerpuff Girls merchandise was agreed back in February this year.
