Cartoon Network Creative Arts Emmys 2017 Nominations

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) released their nominations list for the 2017 Emmy Awards this morning (13/07/2017) at the Wolf Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles, USA. Cartoon Network Studios has been nominated twice in the “Outstanding Short Form Animated Program” category for Adventure Time and Steven Universe. Warner Bros. Animation’s Teen Titans Go! has also been nominated in the same category, the show airs on Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Animation has a close relationship with the channel.

So far, Adventure Time has won a total of six Emmys and won two Emmys in the “Outstanding Individual Achievement” in Animation category last year for the episodes “Bad Jubies” and “Stakes Part 8: The Dark Cloud”. This year, Adventure Time has been nominated for the Islands miniseries episode – “Imaginary Resources”. Steven Universe has been nominated for the musical themed episode “Mr. Greg” and Teen Titans Go! has been nominated for the (slightly inaccurate) Teen Titans origins episode named “Orangins”.

Cartoon Network has dominated the “Outstanding Short Form Animated Program” category with three nominations, but they will face competition against Disney’s Mickey Mouse and Disney XD’s Marvel’s Rocket and Groot.

Best of luck to Pendleton Ward, Graham Falk, Elizabeth Ito and the production crew for the Adventure Time episode – Imaginary Resources. Also best of luck to Rebecca Sugar, Joe Johnston, Jeff Liu and the Crewniverse, could they finally win their first Emmy?. This is also Teen Titans Go!’s first Emmy nomination, could the highly popular DC Comics animated show win the award?.

This year’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday 9th September and Sunday 10th September and will air on Saturday 16th September at 8pm ET/PT, 7pm CT on FXX in the United States.
