Adult Swim USA’s Toonami Expands Schedule By One Hour With A Earlier 9pm Start

From Saturday 29th September, Adult Swim USA’s anime-focused programming block – Toonami has expanded its schedule by one hour and now will have the earlier start time of 9pm. In the extra hour on 29th September, anime fans will enjoy an episode of Dragon Ball Z Kai and a brand new episode of My Hero Academia. A brand new show and the latest series in the successful Naruto anime franchise – Boruto: Naruto Next Generation will also premiere at 10.30pm.

The new schedule will as follows:

9pm: Dragon Ball Z Kai
9.30pm: My Hero Academia (New Episode)
10pm Naruto: Shippuden
10.30pm: Boruto: Naruto Next Generations (New Show)
11pm: Dragon Ball Super (New Episode)

The Licensing Awards 2018: CID And Adult Swim’s Rick And Morty Wins Best Licensed Adult Apparel Range Award

The 2018 Licensing Awards ceremony was held last night (11th September) at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London, UK. The 2018 Licensing Awards was an opportunity to celebrate the best licensed products and services of the year. Licensed entertainment clothing distributor – CID won the “Best Licensed Adult Apparel Range” award for a T-shirt collection based on Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty. Also, Cartoon Network Enterprises EMEA’s very own Tasmyn Knight won the LIMA (Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association) UK Rising Star award.

This year’s awards ceremony was attended by 1,400 retailers, licensors, licensees and industry executives. Each award category was sponsored by a brand or company, Cartoon Network sponsored the “The Innovation Award”, in this category Bioworld International’s DC Superheroes (a property owned by Cartoon Network’s sister company – Warner Bros.) Foundmi range took the prize. A Foundmi is a Bluetooth tracking tag that helps you keep track of your valuables, with a Foundmi tag, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman or The Flash can truly become your personal superhero who can help you find your lost items. Warner Bros. Consumer Products also sponsored the “Best Retailer of Adult Licensed Products” category, in this category, the award was given to national home entertainment retailer – HMV.

Last night (8th September) was the first night of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards 2018 ceremony at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, at this year’s awards, Cartoon Network’s young adult entertainment brand – Adult Swim walked away with two awards, with the popular animated series – Rick and Morty winning the “Outstanding Animated Program” award for the episode – Pickle Rick and the stop-motion animated comedy – Robot Chicken winning the award for “Outstanding Short Form Animated Program” for last year’s Christmas special – “Freshly Baked: The Robot Chicken Santa Claus Pot Cookie Freakout Special: Special Edition”.

In the “Outstanding Animated Program” category – Rick and Morty beat Disney XD’s Big Hero 6: The Series special episode – Baymax Returns, FOX’s Bob’s Burgers, FOX’s The Simpsons and Comedy Central’s South Park. Meanwhile in the “Outstanding Short Form Animated Program” category, Robot Chicken beaten Cartoon Network’s daytime family-friendly shows such as Adventure Time, Steven Universe, We Bare Bears and Teen Titans Go!.

Congratulations to Robot Chicken show creators – Seth Green and Matthew Senreich and also the production teams at Stoopid Buddy Stoodios and Williams Street/Adult Swim. Also, congratulations to Rick and Morty creators – Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon and to their production teams at Rick and Morty, LLC and also Williams Street/Adult Swim. At present, the only outstanding category that has received an Adult Swim nomination is “Outstanding Creative Achievement In Interactive Media Within A Scripted Program” for the Rick and Morty themed virtual reality game – Virtual Rick-ality, the winner of this category will be announced tonight (9th September).
