Captain Planet Available For Digital Download On 10th April
Captain Planet, the animated show from the early 1990’s about the eponymous environmental superhero will be released for digital download in the United States on 10th April. The show was co-created by Ted Turner (the founder and original owner of Turner Broadcasting System, which also included Cartoon Network while it was in its early formative years), who is known to this day for his strong environmental beliefs and support for environmental causes, and also Barbara Pyle, an executive producer and environmental activist.
The show tackles environmental issues including pollution, radiation, deforestation, and poaching and follows the story of five teenagers called the “Planeteers” who try to save the planet from environmental devastation, each Planeteer possesses special powers, but when there’s a situation that’s too difficult to handle, they combine their powers to summon Captain Planet, a superhero that is greater than the sum of its parts, in other words, Captain Planet is a physical manifestation and representation of teamwork.
In a little while before Earth Day (22nd April), Cartoon Network USA will be releasing Captain Planet for digital download on 10th April, each season will cost $9.99 or $14.99 each, individual episodes will costs $1.99 and will be available to download on iTunes, Amazon Video, Google Play, Vudu, Playstation Store, and the Xbox Store.
Cartoon Network USA Adventure Time Islands Sneak Peek
Cartoon Network USA has uploaded a sneak peek clip of Adventure Time: Islands onto YouTube ahead of its premiere next week. The miniseries will premiere on Monday 30th January at 7.30pm (ET/PT) with two new episodes airing every night for four nights, concluding on Thursday 2nd February. In Adventure Time: Islands, Finn, Jake, BMO and Susan Strong go on a expedition across the seas to explore new lands and along the way they’ll encounter new creatures and new islands. The mini-series will solve one of Adventure Time’s biggest mysteries – What happened to all the humans?
The sneak peek is from the first episode of Adventure Time: Islands called “The Invitation”. In the clip, Mr. Cupcake tries to save a little girl on the beach.
Also from today (24/01/2017) in the United States, Adventure Time: Islands is now available to own on DVD, iTunes, Amazon Video and Google Play.

Cartoon Network’s Emmy and Peabody Award-winning Adventure Time returns this January with Adventure Time: Islands, an eight-part journey into Finn the Human’s mysterious past beginning Monday, Jan. 30 and concluding Thursday 2nd Feb at 7:30 p.m. (ET, PT) on Cartoon Network. The four-night special event will answer one of the series’ most-asked questions: What happened to the humans?
But first, fans can see Islands on DVD, iTunes, Amazon Video and Google Play ahead of its linear premiere. All eight episodes plus exclusive new content including animatics, an art gallery and song demos will be available on Tuesday, Jan. 24 for the suggested retail price of $14.97.
In Adventure Time: Islands, Finn (voiced by Jeremy Shada), Jake (John DiMaggio), BMO (Niki Yang) and Susan Strong (Jackie Buscarino) leave the Land of Ooo to embark on a quest of epic proportions across the ocean and into new lands – encountering new creatures, discovering new islands and using teamwork along the way.
Adventure Time: Islands comes on the heels of Adventure Time: Stakes, the series’ first eight-part miniseries following Marceline the Vampire Queen. Stakes debuted on Cartoon Network in November 2015 to phenomenal success, ranking as the #1 program in its time period with all key kids and boys audiences. Adventure Time storyboard artist Tom Herpich was also awarded an Emmy in 2016 for Stakes’ conclusion, “The Dark Cloud.”
