Cartoon Network France Announces Imagination Studios 2017 Winner And New Animated Short

Cartoon Network France has announced the winner of their 2017 Imagination Studios competition, congratulations to Oscar for winning the competition, his winning entry was a character design featuring two attached cherries, with one holding a sword and another holding a book. With the help of students from Gobelins – L’École de L’Image, a world class visual arts and animation school based in Paris, Oscar’s two cherry characters have been transformed into an animated short called “Les Frères Cerise” (The Cherry Brothers in English). The winner was decided by a jury of representatives from Cartoon Network France and Gobelins, in total there were over 1,500 Imagination Studios competition entries, all from children aged between 6 and 12 years old.

Les Frères Cerise follows the adventures of two attached cherry brothers who have completely different personalities, one is an heroic adventurer who wields a sword and the other one has more of a “geeky” and less caring personality. The adventurer cherry attacks an anteater-like creature who has been trapping ants and the anteater steals the geeky cherry’s book. The cherry odd-couple set aside their differences and work together to attack the anteater and retrieve the book. In the end credits, it shows that the two cherries have liberated the ants after the battle.

The animated short can now be viewed on Cartoon Network France’s YouTube channel and will also be broadcast on the Cartoon Network France television channel.
