We Bare Bears Wins Best International Animation Series For Kids At 24th International Trickfilm Festival Stuttgart

Cartoon Network Studios’ very own We Bare Bears has won the award for Best Children’s Animated Series in the “Tricks for Kids” category at the 24th International Trickfilm Festival in Stuttgart, Germany. The animation festival was held last week (02/05/2017 to 07/05/2017) and the winner was decided by a jury of directors and animators including Draško Ivezić, director and animator Jakob Schuh and graphic artist and director Robert Valley, fifteen shows were pre-selected for the prize out of a total of 160 shows. Congratulations to the show’s creator Daniel Chong, director Manny Hernandez, creative director Lauren Sassen and the whole We Bare Bears production team for winning the award.

We Bare Bears follows the misadventures of three bears, Grizzly, Panda and Ice Bear who try their best to adapt to human society but they always get into all kinds of comedic mishaps. An episode of We Bare Bears and an episode of The Powerpuff Girls were screened at the festival.

We Bare Bears season three will premiere on Cartoon Network Germany this August.

The Amazing World Of Gumball Nominated At British Animation Awards

An episode of The Amazing World of Gumball called “The Shell” has been nominated in the Best Children’s Series and Children’s Choice Award category at the 2016 British Animation Awards. The episode tells the story of when Penny (an anthromorphic peanut) literally cracks open her shell and reveals her true self to Gumball, due to a misunderstanding from Gumball’s stunned response because of her new appearance, she shapeshifts into different uncontrollable monsters, Gumball follows her into the forest to resolve the situation and to officially begin their relationship.

The episode was written by Ben Bocquelet, Guillaume Cassuto, Tom Crowley and Tobi Wilson, and was storyboarded by Aurelie Charbonnier with Teresa Gallagher voice acting as Penny. The 2016 British Animation Awards will be held on 10th March 2016 at the BFI (British Film Institute) Southbank in London.
