Cartoon Network UK’s Ben 10 Themed Pop-Up Channel Launched Today 1st July 2018: 10 Days Of Action!

Today (1st July 2018) at 6am, Cartoon Network UK’s one-hour timeshift channel – Cartoon Network +1 has been taken over and transformed into a temporary pop-up Ben 10 channel for the first 10 days of July. The channel will air nothing but episodes from the Ben 10 action-animation alien transforming franchise including the original Ben 10 series (also known as Classic Ben 10), the newly rebooted Ben 10 series based on the original, Ben 10 Omniverse and live action gameshow – Ben 10 Challenge. The channel will revert back to Cartoon Network +1 on Wednesday 11th July at 6am.

Back in June, there was speculation that there will be a Ben 10 themed channel coming soon, after it was emerged that Cartoon Network’s owner – Turner renamed one of their existing Ofcom licences to “Ben 10”, at the time it wasn’t publicly known exactly what it could be, news of the thematic pop-up channel launching has put all speculation to rest.

Also check out the Ben 10 section on the Cartoon Network UK website, there’s a brand new Football game coinciding with the World Cup tournament called Penalty Power, where the player uses the power of the Omnitrix to take the form of an alien, take penalty shootouts and defend the goal to win the game.

Stacey Solomon Transformed Into Vilgax From Ben 10 For Halloween

British singer, X Factor finalist and ITV’s Loose Woman panelist – Stacey Solomon was transformed into an alien from Ben 10 for her son Zachery for Halloween. Cartoon Network UK collaborated with BAFTA-winning studio Millennium FX who have previously provided costumes and makeup for BBC’s Doctor Who and has transformed Stacy into the green tentacled alien overlord – Vilgax. In the Ben 10 reboot, Vilgax was introduced in the Omnitricked four-part special episode. Stacey Solomon previously promoted a Ben 10 campaign in 2012 called the Alien World Record challenge, where several kids built a giant alien made out of plastic bricks to break the Guinness World Record for “The Most People Taking Part In Building A Plastic Brick Sculpture”. The sculpture was a model of the building block alien – Bloxx from Ben 10 Omniverse.

New Ben 10 Magazine Out Now In The UK

A magazine based on Cartoon Network’s Ben 10 has relaunched in the UK on Wednesday 18th October. This version of the magazine focuses on the 2016 reboot series, the magazine is on sale for £3.99 and features a comic strip with an original story, a free blaster toy, puzzles and a competition to win Ben Tennyson’s alien transforming watch – the Omnitrix. The magazine is published by Panini Comics and issue #1 is now available to buy at all good newsagents across the UK.

Cartoon Network UK Halloween Bumpers Featuring Doughnuts?!?

For Halloween, Cartoon Network UK has made some funny bumpers featuring the popular sugary and doughy cake – doughnuts. Each bumper features a live action stop-motion sequence with animated doughnuts parodying various horror and sci-fi characters, movies and objects with puns to match. Bumpers include: Jampire aka Count Doughula (Vampire aka Count Dracula), Dunkenstein (Frankenstein’s Monster), U.F.D: Unidentified Flying Doughnut (U.F.O. Unidentified Flying Object), Doooughnuts (Ghost Donuts), Curse Of The Doughwolf (Curse of the Werewolf), Dawn Of The Doughed (Dawn of the Dead) and Cartoon Network’s Filler (Michael Jackson’s Thriller). These bumpers were also made to promote Cartoon Network’s Imagination Studios initiative and competition.

Cartoon Network India And Amazon Prime Video Announces VOD Content Distribution Deal

Turner International India and Amazon Prime Video in India have signed a content distribution deal to add a selection of classic Cartoon Network shows onto the subscription video-on-demand service. Cartoon Network shows that will be added to the service include, Ben 10 (Original series), Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Ben 10 Omniverse, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Johnny Bravo, The Powerpuff Girls (Original series), Dexter’s Laboratory, and two shows specifically produced for Indian audiences – Kumbh Karan and Roll No. 21. The shows will be added to the Kids and Family TV section of Amazon Prime Video’s service.

In a joint statement by Amazon India and Cartoon Network India, both said:

“Kids today are consuming and engaging with their favourite content across diverse screens such as computers and mobile screens. This is increasing with the emergence of new OTT platforms and the rise in use of apps for games as an entertainment and learning activity.”

In addition to the classic cartoon distribution deal with Amazon Prime Video and the recent revamp of Toonami India as a classic animation channel, Cartoon Network Enterprises in India has released a retro collection which includes a series of branded merchandise such as T-shirts, shoes, mugs, bags, badges, posters, flip-flops, mobile covers and much more. The new merchandise range features character designs from The Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo and Dexter’s Laboratory.

In regards to new merchandise range, Anand Singh, the Senior Director of Cartoon Network Enterprises India made this statement:
