Bliss, also known as the fourth and original Powerpuff Girl is back in a brand new special 22-minute episode coming to Cartoon Network UK this Friday (22nd June) at 8pm. Britain’s Got Talent judge – Alesha Dixon has returned to voice Bliss once again for the UK variant of the Never Been Blissed special. Just like Alesha in the UK, many guest celebrities voice actresses have returned to voice Bliss, including Wengie in Australia, Claudia Tagbo in France, Toya Delazy in South Africa and also Olivia Olson in the original U.S. dub.

Bliss is the older sister of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup and unlike her younger sisters, she was created using Chemical W instead of Chemical X during Professor Utonium’s ongoing experiments to create the perfect little girl. Bliss has returned from outer space, which was where she went at the end of the Power of Four special, she has returned to track down a deadly parasitic alien on the loose in Townsville called “The Sporde”, it’s up to The Powerpuff Girls to stop it before the big school dance and before it turns Bliss’s new crush – Logan into a terrifying monster.

The Powerpuff Girls: Never Been Blissed 22-minute special premieres Friday 22nd June at 8pm on Cartoon Network.

The long-lost fourth Powerpuff Girl is back and stronger than ever on Cartoon Network this summer! Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon returns as the voice of Bliss in the The Powerpuff Girls special: Never Been Blissed. Bliss is the teenage sister to Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, who has returned from outer space to help her superhero sisters hunt down a deadly alien on the loose in Townsville. The Powerpuff Girls special: Never Been Blissed featuring Alesha Dixon premieres on Friday 22nd June at 8pm on Cartoon Network.

Alesha Dixon’s character, Bliss first made an epic entrance onto the screens last October and now she’s back for a special 22-minute episode, The Powerpuff Girls: Never Been Blissed. The episode sees Bliss and her sisters track down a deadly alien called ‘The Sporde’. With this parasitic alien on the loose, it’s up to Bliss, Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup to stop it before the big school dance, and before it turns Bliss’ new crush Logan into a deadly monster.

This year, Cartoon Network will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Powerpuff Girls, the full series premiered on Cartoon Network in the United States on 18th November 1998, the show eventually became one of Cartoon Network’s most iconic animated series appealing to both girls and boys all over the world. The animated series followed the daily-lives of three unlikely superheroes, three kindergarten-aged (school-aged in the 2016 reboot) girls named Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, it’s their duty to save Townsville and the world from destruction before bedtime while still trying to live a normal childhood. The 20th anniversary celebrations will begin next month with the global rollout of new episodes, events and products that will continue into 2019. As seen in the Cartoon Network USA 2018 preview video, Bliss will also be returning to the show this year.

The original series was created by Craig McCracken who later created another Cartoon Network hit Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends, for the rebooted series which launched in 2016, Nick Jennings and Bob Boyle serve as executive producers.

In 2017, The Powerpuff Girls won a “Best National Family Series” Gracie Award. The Gracie Awards recognises high-quality programming created by women, for women and about women in media and entertainment. ASIFA-Hollywood has released their nominations list for the 45th annual Annie Awards which will be held on Saturday 3rd February 2018, at Royce Hall at UCLA in Los Angeles. The Annie Awards is an annual awards ceremony to honor exceptional animated productions and also honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the art of animation, an Annie Award is a highly regarded accolade for excellence in the field of animation.

Cartoon Network Studios’ We Bare Bears has been nominated in the “Best Animated Television/Broadcast Production For Children” category for the episode “Panda’s Art”, meanwhile Adult Swim has received three nominations in the same category for “Best General Audience Animated Television/Broadcast Production”, in the category, Rick and Morty has been nominated for the “Pickle Rick” episode, this year’s Robot Chicken Christmas special – “Freshly Baked: The Robot Chicken Santa Claus Pot Cookie Freakout Special: Special Edition” has also been nominated. The second episode of the final season of Samurai Jack “XCIII” has also been put forward for the award.

In terms of individual achievement award nominations, Cartoon Network has received two nominations, one for The Amazing World of Gumball and the other for The Powerpuff Girls. The voice of Gumball in The Amazing World of Gumball (from the end of The Copycats episode to present day) – Nicolas Cantu has been nominated for “Outstanding Achievement for Voice Acting in an Animated Television / Broadcast Production” for the episode “The Grades”. The Powerpuff Girls also receives a individual achievement nomination in the “Outstanding Achievement for Music in an Animated Television / Broadcast Production” category for the episode “Home, Sweet Homesick”, music in the episode was composed by Mike Reagan with lyrics by Bob Boyle.
