Cartoon Network And Boomerang USA Upfront Event To Be Held On Wednesday 13th May In New York

For the first time ever, Cartoon Network USA and Adult Swim will be teaming up with its Turner Broadcasting System counterparts (CNN, HLN, TBS, TNT, truTV and Turner Sports) for a united Turner 2015 upfront event at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York on Wednesday 13th May. Turner Broadcasting President David Levy, made this statement in regards of the upfront:

“As a global leader in content spanning all platforms, we look forward to sharing our diverse portfolio of leading brands with the industry like never before, In today’s fragmented environment, advertisers and media companies continue to search for enhanced targeting and insights. Turner continues to invest in data and analytics that allows us to better understand our audiences, collaborate with partners and continually innovate across all platforms. When combined with our ongoing investment in premium content for our entertainment, news, sports and kids brands, the quality and scale of our portfolio will continue to thrive across multiple viewing windows.”

Boomerang USA Rebranded Today (19/01/2014)

Boomerang Rebrand

Today (19/01/2015), Boomerang USA has rebranded using the new multicoloured idents and black and white motif logo, today is also national holiday in the United States as its Martin Luther King Day, which was an ideal time to rebrand. Today marks the first time Boomerang USA has rebranded, unlike the other international feeds, Boomerang USA has been using the same toy bumpers since 1st April 2000. This is a milestone in the Boomerang international rebrand rollout, which was first started with Boomerang UK using elements and colours of the rebrand in promos since September 2014, followed by the full rebrands of Boomerang Latin America, Brazil, Australia, Southeast Asia, France and Nordic.

Here is a continuity of the Boomerang USA rebrand:

Dish Network In USA Dropped Cartoon Network, Adult Swim & Boomerang

It has been announced today that Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang (including some other Turner Broadcasting System channels) have been dropped on Dish Network, both Dish and Turner have been trying to negotiate a fair price for the channels, it’s not known how close they are in reaching a deal. The Dish Network/Turner carriage deal expired yesterday (20/10/2014) and the contract was up for renewal.

From the Press Release:

“Despite our best efforts, we were unable to reach an agreement with Dish Network, and they have unilaterally decided to pull CNN, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, truTV, TCM, HLN, CNN en Espanol and Boomerang off the air upon the expiration of our current deal.

Turner has worked diligently for months to come to a fair agreement including multiple extensions and compromises, and it’s unfortunate that Dish is once again operating in a disruptive manner that takes away networks and programming from their customers. We are hopeful our counterparts will return to the negotiating table, and we’ll get a deal completed.”
