Boomerang UK New Show Mighty Mike Premieres 1st May

On Wednesday 1st May, Boomerang UK will be premiering a brand new show – Mighty Mike, with new episodes airing on weekdays at 5.30pm. The show was previously known as “Take It Easy Mike” and “Mighty Mike and the Wild Bunch” during its development. The new show features hyper-realistic 3D CGI visuals and non-dialogue humour, a total of 78 episodes, each with a runtime of seven minutes have been produced.

The new show follows the life of a pug named Mike, a dog with sophisticated tastes filled with limitless energy, he wants to seduce his crush, Cindy – the neighbour’s dog, but unluckily, a bunch of trouble-makers always ruin his plans, whether its the raccoons – Freddy and Mercury (named after the famous singer from the band – Queen), a cute kitten named Fluffy or three turtles (named after the three musketeers – Athos, Portos and Aramis) that always appear at the worst possible moment.

Mighty Mike is produced by French animation studio – TeamTO, known for animating Cartoon Network’s Angelo Rules and Boomerang’s My Knight and Me and is also produced by Canadian animation studio – Digital Dimension. CAKE handles the worldwide distribution for Take It Easy Mike excluding France, Germany and China. In addition to Boomerang UK, the brand new show will premiere on Boomerang feeds around the world and also on Cartoon Network, Boing and Pogo in some countries.

Today (13th February), distributor CAKE Entertainment and Canadian TV production company Fresh TV has announced that the prequel to the popular Total Drama animated franchise – Total DramaRama has been renewed for a second season. The new episodes will continue to air on Cartoon Network USA as well as Teletoon in Canada. Like the other Total Drama series, Total DramaRama is created by Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch. The prequel reintroduces the characters from the original Total Drama series – Total Drama Island as toddlers at a Daycare Centre but with fully formed teenaged personalities. London, UK based CAKE Entertainment is handling international distribution of Total DramaRama (along with the other previous Total Drama series). A premiere date for the show’s second season on Cartoon Network USA has yet to be announced.

Regarding the show’s second season renewal, Ed Galton, CCO and managing director at CAKE, said;

Boomerang Buys International Broadcasting Rights To Mush-Mush And The Mushables Coming Soon In 2020

Turner’s classic and contemporary animation channel – Boomerang has acquired the rights to a brand new CGI-animated adventure comedy series called “Mush-Mush and the Mushables”. The brand new show follows the adventures of a community of lovable mushrooms. The new show will air on international versions of Boomerang as well as other Turner-owned children’s channels such as Cartoon Network, Boing and POGO in selected markets from 2020.

The brand new show is created by Flemish artist Elfriede de Rooster and the show is produced by La Cabane Productions in France as well as Thuristar in Belgium (the same studio behind Boomerang’s My Knight and Me), London-based CAKE Entertainment is distributing the new series. The show is produced by Perrine Gauthier and directed by Joeri Christiaen (the creator of My Knight & Me), in initial batch of episodes there will be a total of 52 episodes with a runtime of 11 minutes each.

Broadcasting rights to Mush-Mush And The Mushables has already been purchased by Canal+ and Piwi+ in France; VRT-Ketnet and RTBF-OUFtivi in Belgium; RTS in Switzerland; and RTL Telekids in the Netherlands.

The chief commercial officer and managing director of CAKE Entertainment – Ed Galton, made this statement in regards of the new series:
