OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes Video Game To Be Released 23rd January
Today (04/01/2018), Cartoon Network Games and Capybara Games has announced the release date for OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes, the video game will be released for PlayStation 4, XBOX One and Steam (for PC) on Tuesday 23rd January 2018. Also, PlayStation’s YouTube channel has uploaded a gameplay trailer of the new game. OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes is an action brawler game with RPG elements, the game features all the familiar characters from the show, including the show’s main antagonist – Lord Boxman, in the game, players will also be able to collect POW Cards which can be leveled up to gain new abilities. Lord Boxman has reduced everyone’s POW card levels to zero and it’s up to K.O. to fight against Lord Boxman’s robotic minions to save the day.

Today (07/12/2017), Cartoon Network USA has announced that OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes has been renewed for a second season, new episodes of Cartoon Network’s latest animated action-comedy show will premiere in 2018. In season two, K.O. will continue his journey to become the world’s greatest hero along with his new friends Enid and Rad, also Lakewood Plaza Turbo will be facing new threats from new villains. There will be more special crossover episodes featuring surprise heroes, much like the Captain Planet episode that aired in October and the new season will provide the usual action and comedy that the fans of the show love.
In addition to the show’s renewal, Cartoon Network Games and Capybara Games has released a trailer for the new video game based on the animated series – OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes. Cartoon Network’s OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes is levelling up for a second season, set to premiere in 2018. Created by Ian Jones-Quartey OK K.O.! is a dynamic storytelling universe at the nexus of gaming and animation. Developed in tandem with the series, OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes is the upcoming console video game and the first official trailer is now available for fans here.
Season two will be even more heroic for K.O., Enid and Rad as they continue to level up with all new adventures. There are new threats and villains on the horizon as mysteries of Lakewood Plaza Turbo begin to reveal themselves. Surprise heroes will also make their debut alongside some familiar faces in special crossover episodes that will kick up the action, laughter and comedy into maximum drive.
OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes is published by Cartoon Network, developed by Capybara Games and written in collaboration with series creator Jones-Quartey. This latest video shows off the many familiar characters fans can expect to see, as well as the game’s colorful blend of side-scrolling action and RPG elements. When Lord Boxman resets the card levels of every hero in Lakewood Plaza, it’s up to K.O. to help his friends and secure his place as a true hero. Battle Lord Boxman’s evil robot army in fast-paced brawls, explore the mall to find quests to complete, and level up special POW cards for new abilities to put the pain on Lord Boxman’s most diabolical scheme yet.

Cartoon Network At PAX West Overview OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes And Steven Universe: Save The Light
Friday this week (01/09/2017) was the first day of the PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) West Video Game Convention in Seattle, Washington, USA. The first event was a panel about two upcoming releases from Cartoon Network Games – Steven Universe: Save the Light and OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes.
OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes creator – Ian Jones-Quartey was at the panel to discuss the design and development process behind the new video game, he was joined with Nathan Vella, Co-founder & president of Capybara Games – the developers of OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes, Chris Graham, the creative director and founder of Grumpyface Studios, the game developer for Steven Universe: Save The Light and finally, Mario Piedra, the creative director of Cartoon Network Games. During the panel’s live stream, in-game footage and artwork from both games were shown. The development of the both games took a different approach to the way licensed games are usually produced, where the creators of the licensed property is directly involved in the game’s production and creative process. There’s also demos for OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes and Steven Universe: Save The Light for people to play at the convention.
Summary Of The Cartoon Network Panel At PAX West 2017
In February 2016, Cartoon Network hosted a game jam in Portland, Oregon. A game jam is an event where a large gathering of game developers produce video games within a short space of time, 200 independent game developers produced games based on Cartoon Network Studios’ Lakewood Plaza Turbo; the animated short that became OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes. Ian mentioned this at the start of the panel to explain how the idea for a new game came to fruition. At the panel, Ian explains he has an open approach to the development of OK K.O.!’s universe, anyone who contributes ideas to OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes, whether its in a game or in an episode, takes part in the franchise’s world building. Capybara Games’ very own artists had experience working in the animation industry, and used their expertise on the new OK K.O.! game, in addition, the show itself was inspired by video games, which means the concept was easily converted into an actual video game. The brand new OK K.O.! game is a RPG adventure/brawler game with each quest in the game equating to a mini episode of OK K.O!. OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes will be released for XBOX One, PS4 and Steam for the PC.
Steven Universe: Save The Light is developed by Grumpyface Studios, the game studio has already developed mobile games based on Cartoon Network’s properties including The Amazing World of Gumball, Regular Show and The Powerpuff Girls, and they’re fans of Steven Universe too. Chris Graham from Grumpyface, explains that fusions will be a feature in the new Steven Universe game, which is an important character building and plot-driving feature of the TV show, fusions will include Sardonyx (a fusion of Pearl and Garnet), Stevonnie (Steven and Connie) and many more. In the game, Peridot can be used to make turrets, landmines and debuffers. The game introduces a new Peridot-like enemy named Squaridot, the character behaves in a similar way to Peridot used to before she joined the Crystal Gems. The new game also features the original voice acting talent from the show. The gameplay was partly inspired by Nintendo’s Paper Mario and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker games. Steven Universe: Save The Light will be released for XBOX One and PS4 consoles.
