InfoAnimation.com.br has reported that there will be more new episodes of Jorel’s Brother (O Irmão do Jorel in Portuguese) on Cartoon Network Brazil every Monday at 8.45pm starting on 12th January. The Brazilian produced show is one of the most popular on the Brazilian feed of Cartoon Network and was the most watched show in October. The success of Jorel’s Brother reassures Cartoon Network in its commitment in local animation production and programming.
On 3rd November, Cartoon Network Brazil will premiere the second half of season 5 of Total Drama Island (an animated parody mostly of the TV show Survivor) called “Total Drama: Pahkitew Island”, the show will air at 3pm Monday to Friday with repeats on Saturday at 12pm. The first half of season 5 of Total Drama Island also known as “Total Drama: All Stars” will also be repeated at 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
A new spinoff series called Total Drama Presents: The Ridonculous Race is already in development, by the show’s producers Fresh TV.
It has been finally announced that Monica’s Gang Teen (known as Turma da Mônica Jovem in Portuguese and in Brazil) will air in November on Cartoon Network Brazil.
The new series has the characters of the original Monica’s Gang comic and animated show, but instead of children they’re now teenagers and is based on the spin-off comic which is on-going. Typical plot elements of the show include: love, school, friends, nightclubs and typical teenage problems. The Monica’s Gang Teen animated series will be in a manga art style just like the spin-off comic but will be unlike the original Monica’s Gang series and comics.
The new series is produced by Cartoon Network in partnership with the studio Mauricio de Sousa Productions. The animated series will start with an initial 26 episodes.
