Cartoon Network Still Has Future Plans For Adventure Time
Cartoon Network still has future plans for its Adventure Time property despite the fact the show has ended this year, at least in terms of product and service licensing. According to an interview with Cartoon Network Enterprises EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) vice-president – Johanne Broadfield on licensing news website – Licensing.biz, the show remains to be one of Cartoon Network’s priority franchises. Adventure Time was a genre defining series and attracted a diverse fanbase of kids, adults and celebrities and for many of its license holders, it was their most successful IP license ever. The interview was published on Licensing.biz’s website on the final day of the Brand Licensing Europe 2018 event in London (9th to 11th October).
In the interview, Johanne Broadfield said: “The brand is now making the natural transition into the evergreen space and whilst the future will be different, it will be no less exciting. We fully intend to take all those hugely enthusiastic fans, licensees and retailers on the journey with us and pick up more along the way.”
Although the show has ended, the show has an everlasting popularity due to the sustained level of success throughout its eight year run as an animated series, many kids literally grew up with Finn and Jake, as both characters matured during the series.
Adventure Time was the first IP utilised by Cartoon Network for its first VR app – “I See Ooo” which launched in 2016, a Jake the Dog themed VR viewer was also released. Adventure Time already has loads of games available for mobile devices and games consoles, including the recently launched Adventure Time: Pirates Of The Enchiridion which was released in July this year as well as Bloons Adventure Time TD. Adventure Time will continue to be present in the form of physical installations at theme parks in the Middle East such as IMG Worlds of Adventure and also the Cartoon Network Wave cruise liner which will set sail on its maiden voyage in Asia very soon.
Adventure Time won’t be leaving television screens any time soon as it will continue to air on Cartoon Network (at least in the EMEA region) and on free-to-air children’s channels across Europe. The show will continue to live on in Cartoon Network’s extensive back catalogue of episodes and specials and there still be new Adventure Time merchandise coming soon to retailers.

Turner Asia-Pacific Announces New Cartoon Network Entertainment Park Coming Soon To Bali, Indonesia
Today (6th June), Turner Asia-Pacific has announced that they’ve announced a licensing partnership with Indonesian real-estate and hospitality investment company – The MAJ Group to build a 4.3 hectare entertainment park in Bali, Indonesia. The family-friendly entertainment park development will feature the island’s largest water park and an indoor entertainment centre – all complete with Cartoon Network branding and themed with many of its animated IPs. The announcement was made at IAAPA’s (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) Asia Attractions Expo 2018 in Hong Kong.
The park is set to launch in 2020, the development will include water rides and surf and wave pools. The construction project will be a integral section of The MAJ Nusa Dua complex, a premiere destination for tourists featuring world-class hotels and an award-winning golf course. The Cartoon Network Entertainment Park will be Indonesia’s first ever park associated with an international brand, it will also be Cartoon Network’s first ever combined indoor and outdoor attraction. In addition to the water park and the entertainment centre, there will also be live performances featuring well known characters from many of Cartoon Network’s shows including – Ben 10, We Bare Bears, The Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time.
Other Cartoon Network-branded projects licensed by Turner include the Cartoon Network Amazone water park in Thailand, IMG Worlds of Adventures and IMG Worlds of Legends in Dubai, Amaazia in India and the Cartoon Network Wave cruise liner.

Turner Asia Pacific has announced a licensing partnership with Indonesian real-estate and hospitality investment company, The MAJ Group, to develop a 4.3-hectare entertainment park in Bali. The family destination will feature the island’s largest waterpark and an indoor entertainment centre – all splashed with Cartoon Network theming and unique sense of fun.
Slated to be fully operational in 2020, the development will include thrilling water rides, and massive surf and wave pools. The integrated project will be a key part of The MAJ Nusa Dua complex, a premier tourist destination in southern Bali featuring world-class hotels and an award-winning golf course.

This will be Indonesia’s first ever park to partner with an international brand, and it will be Cartoon Network’s first with both indoor and outdoor attractions. The whole environment will be brought to life by live entertainment and performances featuring characters from shows such as Ben 10, We Bare Bears, The Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time.

Cartoon Network Animate Your Life Special Event In Singapore 26th May-10th June
During the late May/early June school holidays in Singapore, Cartoon Network Southeast Asia will be running an “Animate Your Life” festival, a 16-day fun filled attraction for Cartoon Network fans, the event promises to be Cartoon Network’s biggest festival of fun in Asia. From Saturday 26th May until Sunday 10th June, the Animate Your Life festival will transform Gardens by the Bay’s Bayfront Plaza into a world of cartoons, with each zone themed after a different Cartoon Network show. The festival will cover 6,000 square metres and more than 80,000 people are expected to visit the festival.
At the festival, there will be We Bare Bears, Adventure Time, Ben 10 and The Powerpuff Girls themed zones filled with fun inflatable obstacle courses, carnival games and creative workshops. You can hangout at Grizz’s, Panda’s and Ice Bear’s cave, test your hero skills at the Ben 10 Boot Camp, learn how to draw and also take fun family photos with some of your favourite cartoon characters. John Fang, Executive Producer of Ben 10 along with Vaibhav Kumaresh, creator of Lamput will be at the special event, both will be joined by Cartoon Network Asia-Pacific’s executive creative director – Glenn Bartlett.
Singapore’s art scene will also be represented through a first-time partnership with local art group – Band of Doodlers, also there will be a locally-created only experience called “Animate Yourself”, which gives fans the chance to recreate their likeness as their favourite Cartoon Network character.
Cartoon Network Animate Your Life is co-presented by Cartoon Network Wave, the world’s first fully-branded cruise liner due to set sail from Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region later this year. Singapore has been hosting several Cartoon Network initiatives as of late. Cartoon Network Wave announced that it will make its maiden voyage from Singapore, the Sentosa FunFest beach festival hosted a inflatable We Bare Bears attraction in March. The Animate Your Life festival will be open Mondays to Thursdays between 3-9pm and Fridays to Sundays between 3-11pm. Family tickets cost $50 (SGD) for two adults and two children or $12.50 (SGD) per child, $18 (SGD) per Adult, $15 (SGD) per Student and $48 (SGD) for friends package for four students.

Hosting workshops and leading interactive activities will be animation talent from around the world. John Fang, Executive Producer of legendary toon, Ben 10, comes all the way from Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank, California. Vaibhav Kumaresh, creator of award-winning Lamput, will be flying in from his studio in Mumbai. They will be joined by Cartoon Network Asia’s executive creative director, Glenn Bartlett.
