New Show Andy Pirki To Premiere On Pogo India 3rd December

A brand new show is coming to Cartoon Network India’s sister channel – Pogo on Sunday 3rd December. The brand new show is called “Andy Pirki” and is about a dinosaur named Andy and a caveman named Pirki who are always having fun and getting themselves into crazy situations. The new show is produced by Mangaluru, India based Aum Animation Studio, a total of 78 episodes with a runtime of seven minutes each have been produced. The studio came up with the idea for the show in 2009, but as a small studio, they lacked experience and budget, eventually by 2013, the studio was producing an episode every two months.

The show grabbed the attention of Turner India who liked the show’s concept and wanted to air the show on their Pogo channel. The show also won two 2017 FICCI Frames awards in the “Best International Episodic Animation” and “Best Indian Episodic Animation” categories, beating Popular Indian animated shows such as Motu Patlu (Airs on Nickelodeon India) and Chota Bheem (airs on Pogo). The show was originally called “Andi Pirki”, which is a slang word in the Tulu language (a language spoken on India’s southwest coast) which means “Mad Cap”, Turner suggested that the name of the show should be changed and “Andy Pirki” became the final title for the show.
