Cartoon Network Studios Europe Greenlights A New Animated Series Elliott From Earth

Today (2nd July), Cartoon Network EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) has greenlit a brand new animated show – Elliott From Earth, the new show will be developed by the same London UK-based production team behind Cartoon Network’s The Amazing World of Gumball, which has been a success worldwide. Elliot From Earth follows the adventures of a young boy named Elliott who finds himself living on a spaceship inhabited by aliens from different parts of the universe, it’s a show about finding your place in the world, although the show’s premise takes place in outer space and yes, Elliott also makes friends with a dinosaur. The show offers a funny and warm-hearted insight into kids lives, whether they’re human or not.

The new show is an animated sci-fi sitcom and will have twenty episodes and each episode will have a runtime of eleven minutes, and unlike Gumball its has a more traditional 2D uniformed look, which is a departure from Gumball’s unconventional mixed-media appearance. Judging from the released artwork, the show makes use of colour, shading and luminosity to produce a beautifully stunning look.

Potential The Amazing World Of Gumball Movie Being Considered

Today (27/03/2018), The Amazing World of Gumball show creator – Ben Bocquelet said on Twitter that he’s considering storylines for a potential The Amazing World of Gumball movie, the news got fans really excited about the idea of a movie based on the show. The idea of a Gumball movie is still in its embryonic stage with nothing set in stone and it will need approval from Cartoon Network for it to be made and if it’s planned to be a theatrical release, it may also need the approval from Turner’s (owners of Cartoon Network) sister company – Warner Bros. Pictures. Ben Bocquelet also mentioned the possibility of a Gumball movie at a special Gumball screening event at BAFTA Piccadilly in London last year. No potential plot ideas have been revealed yet, but some fans have offered suggestions.

Personally, seeing that Elmore seems to be a mix between the real world and the cartoon world, they could make the movie about how Elmore came to be, the place could be an unstable in-between world which could be the reason why unusual things happen, the power of The Void grows stronger to wipe Elmore out of existence because the Universe tries to correct itself after too much strain as the town is seen to be a mistake, it’s up to Gumball to save his town but without destroying the whole universe in the process, they could call the movie – The Amazing Universe Of Gumball, but of course that’s just my idea and it sounds rather “fan-fictiony”.
