From The DC Comics Press Release: The Next Adventure Of DC Super Hero Girls Continues With New Graphic Novels By Amy Wolfram: New Series Writer Joined by DC Super Hero Girls Veteran Artist Yancey Labat for DC SUPER HERO GIRLS: AT METROPOLIS HIGH

DC announced today that the publisher will continue its critically acclaimed DC Super Hero Girls (DCSHG) graphic novel series with new stories told by animation and comics writer Amy Wolfram. Wolfram’s graphic novels will tell original stories starring Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Supergirl and many more popular DC characters set in the same universe as the new DC Super Hero Girls animated series created by Lauren Faust that will air Sundays at 4 p.m. ET/PT on Cartoon Network beginning March 17, 2019.

Wolfram is best known for her work on such fan-favorite animated shows as Teen Titans Go!, and most recently contributed several episodes to the DCSHG animated shorts.

“I’m very excited to be working on DC Super Hero Girls,” stated Wolfram. “Not only do we get to see these iconic superheroes in action as they protect Metropolis, we also get to peek behind the masks and capes to see their secret identities as they deal with an even greater challenge–being a teenager in high school!”

Joining Wolfram for the first installment is longtime DCSHG artist Yancey Labat.

“I’m so excited to work with Amy on this new series,” explained Labat. “The new look is fun to draw. The characters are very expressive and over-the-top, and I love the zaniness and looseness of the designs.”

The first book, DC SUPER HERO GIRLS: AT METROPOLIS HIGH, will follow Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Green Lantern, Bumblebee and Zatanna as they try to balance their superhero duties with their extracurricular activities.

The DCSHG graphic novels will be published under DC’s new middle grade publishing imprint, DC Zoom. For complete details on the upcoming AT METROPOLIS HIGH graphic novel, see below:

Cartoon Network USA DC Super Hero Girls Animated Series Premieres 8th March With An One-Hour Special

Today (14th February), DC Comics’ children’s division – DC Kids has announced the premiere date for DC’s and Warner Bros. Animation’s newest animated series – DC Super Hero Girls. The brand new show will premiere on Cartoon Network USA on Friday 8th March at 6pm ET/PT, starting off with an one-hour movie special – Sweet Justice.

The new DC Super Hero Girls series follows not-so-typical teenagers Diana, Kara, Barbara better known by their superhero names Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Batgirl. While not in school, they’re busy protecting the city of Metropolis from some of the most fearsome supervillians of the DC Comics Universe. Being a teenaged superhero isn’t easy, especially as they have to balance their time between a social life, their families, their studies and saving the city. Other members of the DC Super Hero Girls include Bumblebee, Zatanna and the Green Lantern.

The trailer introducing the show and its characters in action:

From the trailer’s description:

Watch the all-new series on Cartoon Network starting March 8.

Saving the day is super easy when you’re a Super Hero. But stopping evil in its tracks while keeping up grades and managing a social life, all before curfew? Ugh. That’s, like, super tough. DC Super Hero Girls are more than crime-fighting besties, they’re a diverse group of dedicated super-teens! Working together, they fight the battles of Metropolis and the battles of growing, up all at the same time. Always discovering new ways to control their powers and abilities, these awesome girls are quickly learning (sometimes the hard way) how to deal with the super challenges of being a teenage Super Hero.

We all have the power to make a difference. Just make sure to use it for good or you’ll find yourself up against those tenacious teens, the DC Super Hero Girls.
