From yesterday (13/01/2017), Cartoon Network Poland HD is now available on Polish satellite television operator nc+ (formerly known as Cyfra+ and n). Cartoon Network Poland HD launched on 14th October 2015 on rival satellite provider – Cyfrowy Polsat. With the addition of Cartoon Network in HD on nc+, more viewers will be able to watch Cartoon Network’s hit animated shows such as Steven Universe and Adventure Time in high definition.
ToonZone has uploaded a sneak peek clip of the upcoming Adventure Time: Islands mini-series. In Adventure Time: Islands, Finn, Jake, BMO and Susan Strong go on a expedition across the seas to explore new lands and even meet some humans. The miniseries will premiere on Monday 30th January at 7.30pm (ET/PT) with two new episodes airing every night for four nights, concluding on Thursday 2nd February.
Cartoon Network Hindi HD has launched today (12/01/2017) on the beIN satellite television platform in the Middle East on channel 139. Viewers will now be able to watch their favourite animated shows from Cartoon Network Studios in High Definition as well as Indian favourites such as Roll No.21 in HD. The channel’s target demographic are children within the Indian expatriate community that live in the Middle East, where people of Indian origin comprise of 40% of the population in the United Arab Emirates. Hindi is considered to be India’s main language, with over 500 million speakers, with English also used as bridge language across different communities in the country.
Turner Africa has made a channel distribution deal with satellite TV provider AzamTV for carriage of Turner’s Boing channel. AzamTV operates in English speaking East Africa which includes countries such as Kenya, Malawi, Uganda and Tanzania. Boing is mostly an animation channel targeting kids aged between 4 and 7, the channel broadcasts a variety of cartoons including classics from the Cartoon Network library including Courage The Cowardly Dog and Johnny Bravo among others as well as third-party acquisitions including DreamWorks’s Dragons and Inspector Gadget. Boing Africa serves as the English language version of Boing on the continent and is already available in Zambia, the Seychelles and Nigeria. Meanwhile, Boing France is already available in French-speaking African territories.
Pierre Branco, vice-president and general manager of Turner France, Portugal and Africa made this statement regarding the distribution deal:
“This new deal is totally aligned with Boing Africa’s mission to provide quality kid’s content to almost all African households at an affordable price, which makes this partnership truly symbiotic. Already distributed in Zambia, the Seychelles, Nigeria and French African territories, Boing now has a footprint in East African markets which nicely complements our regional presence across Sub-Saharan Africa.”
Deputy CEO of Azam Media Ltd, Jacob Joseph also added:
“Boing has added the cherry on top of our kids’ dessert! Within such a short time, it is one of the most popular kids channels. We are glad to have it in our bouquet and we share the same passion with Turner to provide such content across the Sub-Saharan countries”
