Wondercon Anaheim 2019 DC Super Hero Girls Video Presentation and Q&A Panel Info

On Saturday 30th March at the Wondercon Anaheim convention, there will be a special DC Super Hero Girls video presentation and Q&A session. As DC Super Hero Girls only premiered on Cartoon Network USA last Friday (8th March), the session will be the first opportunity for fans to ask questions about the series so far and also ask about the show’s future plans. Panel members will include the show’s executive producer – Lauren Faust (My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends) and members of the voice acting cast including Kimberly Brooks, Kari Wahlgren, Nicole Sullivan, Grey Griffin and Myrna Velasco. WonderCon Anaheim 2019 will be held between Friday 29th and Sunday 31st March at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim (near Los Angeles), California. The panel will take place on Saturday 30th March between 12pm and 1pm in Room North 200A.

The brand new animated series from Warner Bros. Animation and DC Comics – DC Super Hero Girls airs Sundays at 4pm ET/PT on Cartoon Network USA.

Celebrating finals, firsts and rebirths, Warner Bros. Television (WBTV) will test the physics of funny one last time at WonderCon 2019 with The Big Bang Theory’s final appearance, unveil The 100’s sixth season premiere (on a brand-new planet) and deliver Warner Bros. Animation’s (WBA) newest superhero fix — DC Super Hero Girls. All three series will be out in force during the fan fest in Anaheim, including special video presentations and Q&A sessions on Saturday, March 30, celebrating The Big Bang Theory (Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS) with the hit comedy’s writers, as well as the new animated series DC Super Hero Girls (premiering Friday, March 8, at 6/5c on Cartoon Network, before moving to regular time period of Sundays at 4:00 p.m. ET/PT). Sunday, March 31, brings the exclusive season six world premiere screening of The 100 (premiering Tuesday, April 30, at 9/8c on The CW).

Stars and producers scheduled to attend WonderCon 2019 include:

Today (11th March), DC Comics announced that they will continue its New York Times bestselling DC Super Hero Girls (DCSHG) graphic novel series with new stories written by animation and comics writer Amy Wolfram. The graphic novel series features original stories starring Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Supergirl and many more characters from the brand new DC Super Hero Girls animated series. The brand new animated series DC Super Hero Girls, developed by Cartoon Network veteran – Lauren Faust premiered last Friday (8th March, International Woman’s Day) on Cartoon Network USA, new episodes will continue to air on Cartoon Network USA from 17th March, airing Sundays from 4pm ET/PT.

In the brand new graphic novel, DC Super Hero Girls: At Metropolis High, Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Green Lantern, Bumblebee and Zatanna are continually late to class because of their crime-fighting, they are told to find an after-school club for a whole week or be suspended. But finding a club is not as easy as it looks, and when the girls keep finding themselves kicked out of the clubs, they must think outside of the box and go out of their comfort zones to avoid suspension. Just when they thought balancing school with secret identities and super-heroing had enough challenges. The new DCSHG graphic novels will be published under DC’s new middle grade publishing imprint, DC Zoom.

The new graphic novel is illustrated by DC Super Hero Girls artist Yancey Labat. The new graphic novel will have an early release in comic book stores on 9th October before its general book store release on 15th October and will have a suggested retail price of $9.99 USD/$13.50 CAN.

DC announced today that the publisher will continue its critically acclaimed DC Super Hero Girls (DCSHG) graphic novel series with new stories told by animation and comics writer Amy Wolfram. Wolfram’s graphic novels will tell original stories starring Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Supergirl and many more popular DC characters set in the same universe as the new DC Super Hero Girls animated series created by Lauren Faust that will air Sundays at 4 p.m. ET/PT on Cartoon Network beginning March 17, 2019.

Wolfram is best known for her work on such fan-favorite animated shows as Teen Titans Go!, and most recently contributed several episodes to the DCSHG animated shorts.

“I’m very excited to be working on DC Super Hero Girls,” stated Wolfram. “Not only do we get to see these iconic superheroes in action as they protect Metropolis, we also get to peek behind the masks and capes to see their secret identities as they deal with an even greater challenge–being a teenager in high school!”

Joining Wolfram for the first installment is longtime DCSHG artist Yancey Labat.

“I’m so excited to work with Amy on this new series,” explained Labat. “The new look is fun to draw. The characters are very expressive and over-the-top, and I love the zaniness and looseness of the designs.”

The first book, DC SUPER HERO GIRLS: AT METROPOLIS HIGH, will follow Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Green Lantern, Bumblebee and Zatanna as they try to balance their superhero duties with their extracurricular activities.

Warner Bros. Animation and DC Comics are now releasing brand new animated shorts based on the upcoming DC Super Hero Girls series coming to Cartoon Network USA this year. New episodes are released every Thursday on the DC Super Hero Girls YouTube channel, the first new animated short called “Super Sleeper” was released on Thursday 17th January. The first short “The Late Batsby” which was released theatrically preceding Teen Titans Go! To The Movies premiered on YouTube on 10th January.

In the animated short “Super Sleeper”, Barbara Gordon (aka Batgirl) hosts a sleepover and finds out that Kara (aka Supergirl) “sleep-flies” in her sleep and tries to stop her from flying into danger. In the first animated short which was released “The Great Batsby” – Batgirl is desperate for adventure and can’t wait to join Wonder Woman, Supergirl and the rest of the gang as they attempt to stop Mr Freeze’s latest sinister plot, but one problem, she’s late, but is she?.

DC Super Hero Girls was first introduced as an animated shorts series on YouTube in 2015 and a total of five seasons have been produced so far. Following the success of the shorts and the TV special – “DC Super Hero Girls: Super Hero High”, Warner Bros. Animation decided to make a TV series adaptation with a revised art style for both the shorts and the TV series. Warner Bros. Animation also hired Lauren Faust (best known for her work on Cartoon Network’s Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends and Hasbro’s My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) the as series developer, producer, writer and character designer of the new TV series and has given the DC Super Hero Girls a brand new look. The brand new shorts offers an insight into what the new series will look like.

The new DC Super Hero Girls series follows not-so-typical teenagers Diana, Kara, Barbara better known by their superhero names Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Batgirl. While not in school, they’re busy protecting the city of Metropolis from some of the most fearsome supervillians of the DC Comics Universe. Being a teenaged superhero isn’t easy, especially as they have to balance their time between a social life, their families, their studies and saving the city. Other members of the DC Super Hero Girls include Bumblebee, Zatanna and the Green Lantern.
