Cartoon Network Enterprises is currently in the process of releasing a range of toys from the popular Cartoon Network show – The Powerpuff Girls in retailers throughout the UK. Major UK high-street retailers such as Argos and The Entertainer have already signed up with the master toy licence holder – Spin Master to stock the toys in their stores and on their websites, with Argos launching some of the toys from the new range last Saturday (21/01/2017), the first part of the toy range includes a Storymaker playset and plush toys.

The Entertainer will start selling Powerpuff Girls toys from Thursday 26th January, the launch of the toy range at The Entertainer will coincide with a The Powerpuff Girls Super Saturdays initiative marketing campaign which will include branded activities, exclusive discounts and competitions.

“I think it’s fair to say that The Powerpuff Girls is well and truly back in action. Performance figures demonstrate that the show is striking a chord with girls (and mums) across the UK and we’re seeing interest in the brand surge thanks to the increased exposure that the recent free-to-air broadcast launch has generated. A line-up of fashion, accessories, gifting, homewares, personal care and back-to-school products will also be available from spring 2017.

Cartoon Network Enterprises, the licencing division for Turner and Warner Bros. in India will be expanding into new South Asian markets such as Sri Lanka and Nepal, part of their expansion plans include partnerships with some of the world’s largest food manufacturers such as Unilever and Kellogg’s.

Cartoon Network Enterprises will be seeking more collaboration with retailers and is promoting the relaunch of The Powerpuff Girls and Ben 10 for potential licencees as well as DC Comics characters such as Wonder Woman, Justice League, Aqua Man and Flash. A 2017 preview of CNE’s plans were unveiled at a specially organised roadshow in Mumbai, India yesterday (20/09/2016), in which over 200 trade partners expressed an interest in Cartoon Network’s and Warner Bros.’s current and future movie and television IP’s.

Turner India’s licensing and merchandising arm is aiming for a strong double digit growth this year as it expands into new South Asia markets of Sri Lanka and Nepal in partnership with some of the biggest FMCG brands including Perfetti, Heinz, Unilever, Parle, Mondelez, United Biscuits and Kellogg’s.

As part of its expansion plans, CNE will seek more collaboration with players from retail, e-commerce and FMCG sectors to increase its footprint, and strengthen its leadership position in the market. In line with this growth strategy, CNE has also partnered with Myntra and Future Group. Besides the re-launch of the ever popular global franchise The Powerpuff Girls, CNE will also be focusing on a strong roster of DC movies from Warner Bros. that includes Wonder Woman, Justice League, Aqua Man and Flash.

All this and a preview to plans for 2017 were unveiled at the Cartoon Network Enterprises roadshow on September 20, in Mumbai with over 200 trade partners attending this showcase of Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. extensive portfolio of current and future IPs, TV shows and movies.

We are looking at driving strategic partnerships across various categories in the coming months and providing different touch points for our fans to experience our brand. This roadshow provides an ideal platform for us to connect with our current and potential clients to showcase our portfolio and significant range of products,” said Siddharth Jain, Turner India’s Managing Director.

A brand new series of the multi-million-dollar franchise, Ben 10 is launching as part of an international premiere on Cartoon Network in October and an extensive new product catalogue will be announced soon after.

Last night (13/09/2016), was the 2016 Licensing Awards at the The Grosvenor House Hotel in London, UK. The 2016 Licencing Awards was an opportunity to celebrate the best licenced products and services of the year and Cartoon Network walked away with two awards!

Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time won the award for Best Teen or Adult Licensed Property and the Adventure Time Boots from the Cartoon Network/Dr. Martens licencing partnership won the award for Best Licensed Adult Apparel Range. Turner’s sister company – Warner Bros. also provided some pre-ceremony entertainment celebrating Wonder Woman’s 75th anniversary.
