Turner Italy’s 2018 Successful Viewing Ratings Results

Turner Italy has ended year 2018 with successful results for its kids channels.

In the Italian market, Turner has four children’s channels, two that are free-to-air on digital terrestrial and co-owned by RTI Mediaset – Boing and Cartoonito and two are pay-TV channels fully owned by Turner and available on the Sky Italia satellite service – Cartoon Network and Boomerang.

Boing is the market leader in Italy and had a 11.6% share in the 4-14 age demographic during 2018.

In 2018, Cartoonito was first among commercial childrens’ channels that target the 4-7 year demographic with a share of over 9%.

Cartoon Network maintained its leadership status among kids pay-TV channels with a 0.90% viewing share.

In August 2018, Turner Italy launched an mobile app for Boing. The app now available to download for Android and iOS devices saw 1.7 million downloads in the first four months after launch. The Boing app features full episodes, a livestream of the Boing channel, games and other exclusive content.

Boing Spain Launches Mobile App Includes Channel Live Stream And On-Demand Content

Turner’s and Mediaset España’s free-to-air children’s channel – Boing have launched their very own mobile app. On the app, users can access a livestream of the Boing television channel, which is available anytime and anywhere for free (as long as there’s a good mobile signal or WiFi). There’s also a library of video on-demand content including shows from Cartoon Network Studios, Warner Bros. Animation and other acquired programming such as Doraemon.

The app offers a safe environment for kids and no registration is needed. Cartoon Network shows on the app include The Amazing World of Gumball, Craig of the Creek, We Bare Bears, Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls, Apple and Onion, Regular Show and Teen Titans Go!. There’s also a collection of free games to enjoy too. For most on-demand content, there’s also an English audio option.

Boing Italy also launched a similar app in August, the app had a successful launch with one million downloads within a few weeks.

Today at 6pm Brasilia Time, Cartoon Network Brazil will be broadcasting a livestream with the creator of Jorel’s Brother (original Portuguese title: Irmão do Jorel) – Juliano Enrico on Cartoon Network Brazil’s YouTube channel and on Facebook Live. During the livestream, viewers will be able to ask questions directly to Juliano by using the hashtag #CNLive on social media. The stream will also have two special guests, including show writers – Daniel Furlan (also the voice of William Shostners and Carlos Felino) and Raul Chequer (also the voice of Mendigo dos Mares and Mendigo das Selvas). The live stream celebrates the television premiere of Jorel’s Brother third season, which will air from 7.15pm Brasilia time today (16th July).
