Cartoon Network USA San Diego Comic-Con 2017 Schedule

The internationally renowned San Diego Comic-Con will be mostly held at the San Diego Convention Center next week (Wednesday 19th July to Sunday 23rd July) and as with previous years, Cartoon Network will be hosting a series of panels featuring voice actors and show creators, autograph sessions and other special events. Thursday will mostly feature events for productions by Warner Bros. Animation that air on Cartoon Network, Friday is Cartoon Network’s main day at the convention with events for two productions by Cartoon Network Studios.

Starting off the Cartoon Network events at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, is a panel for Cartoon Network USA’s most popular show as of late – Teen Titans Go!, this will be a chance for fans to ask the show’s producers and voice actors their questions. Also at the panel, there will be an exclusive screening of an upcoming one-hour long Teen Titans Go! special!, could it be The Night Begins To Shine (aka The Day the Night Stopped Beginning to Shine and Became Dark Even Though It Was the Day) by any chance?

Following the Teen Titans Go! panel and screening, is a panel for a show that has yet to premiere on Cartoon Network called Unikitty!, which features the lovable (but at times, extremely angry) character from The Lego Movie. At the panel there will be a Q&A session and a special episode screening.

For those who prefer superheroes and action-animation, there will be a Justice League Action panel featuring a Q&A with the voice actors from the show and the with the show’s production team members, plus a screening of an all-new episode.

On Thursday evening at the convention, is the Cartoon Network Summertime Go! Screening and Costume Contest, an opportunity for Cartoon Network fans to see some exclusive premieres, also prizes are up for grabs those who take part in the Cartoon Network cartoon character costume contest. Kids aged 12 and under wearing a costume will receive a special prize. Guest judges include Ian Jones-Quartey (creator and voice of Rad for OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes), Greg Cipes (voice of Stinkfly in Ben 10 and voice of Beast Boy in Teen Titans Go!), Zach Callison (voice of Steven in Steven Universe), Deedee Magno-Hall (voice of Pearl in Steven Universe), and Michaela Dietz (voice of Amethyst in Steven Universe) and the talented voice actor who connects all four shows together – Eric Bauza!

Kicking off Friday at 10am on the convention is the OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes panel, fans will get to see exclusive content and experience the superpowered and action-packed world of Lakewood Plaza Turbo. Ian-Jones Quartey, the show’s creator and voice of Rad, Toby Jones (the show’s co-executive producer), Courtenay Taylor (voice of K.O.), Kate Flannery (voice of Carol), and Dan Vader (lead writer/designer, for the brand new OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes game at Capybara Games) will all be there. The panel will be moderated by Alanah Pearce from IGN.

Immediately after the OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes panel is the Steven Universe panel, which will include never-before-seen footage, exciting announcement and a Q&A for fans to ask questions about Cartoon Network’s cult hit. The panel will feature the show’s creator – Rebecca Sugar, Deedee Magno-Hall (the voice of Pearl), Michaela Dietz (voice of Amethyst), Estelle (voice of Garnet), and A.J. Michalka (voice of Stevonnie) with half-Gem/half-human Steven Universe Zach Callison as half-guest/half-moderator!

Last but not least on Saturday, there’s a panel for Cartoon Network’s newly revived show – Ben 10, panelists include Greg Cipes (voice of Stinkfly), John DiMaggio (voice of Four Arms), Montse Hernandez (voice of Gwen), Roger Craig Smith (voice of Diamondhead), Tara Strong (voice of Ben Tennyson), John Fang (executive producer), Joe Casey (writer/creator, Man of Action Entertainment), and moderator Eric Bauza. There will be games and giveaways too, it will be so incredible that it will be out of this world!

At the last of San Diego Comic Con 2017 (Sunday 23rd July), there will be another panel for Steven Universe but with a more relaxed and conversational tone, the panel is for the new art book – Steven Universe: Art and Origins, Rebecca Sugar will be joining with Ian Jones-Quartey and the writer of the book – Chris McDonnell, during the session they will talking about what influenced the concept of the show, the development and design of the characters and the music. There will also be a fan Q&A.

Today (22/05/2017), Cartoon Network USA has announced that the recently revived Ben 10 series has been renewed for a second season. The second season will be a continuation of season one, Ben Tennyson’s extraordinary vacation with his cousin Gwen and Grandpa Max will continue. In season two, there will be more new aliens, new friends and enemies and a few surprises with Ben’s Omnitrix – a special watch-like device that gives itS wearer the ability to transform into ten different aliens all with their own unique special powers. On Monday 29th May at 6pm ET/PT, Cartoon Network USA will premiere two episodes (“Rustbucket RIP” and “Bright Lights, Black Hearts”) centring on the 10th alien of the Omnitrix – Wildvine. Many international versions of Cartoon Network (including Cartoon Network UK) have already premiered the two episodes.

Since the show’s premiere in the United States on 10th April, the show has been watched by a total of 41 million viewers across all platforms including mobile, VOD (Video On-Demand) and the Cartoon Network USA channel. New Ben 10 console and mobile games are currently in development.

Ben 10 is a creation of Man of Action Entertainment, a comic book artist and writer team consisting of Duncan Rouleau, Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, and Steven T. Seagle. Man of Action is also currently developing a Megaman TV series based on the popular video game franchise of the same name in co-operation with Capcom, Dentsu, DHX Media and Film Roman. Megaman will premiere on Cartoon Network USA next year.

Turner’s Cartoon Network has announced that the hit series Ben 10 has been renewed for a second season following last year’s successful global launch about the boy with a mysterious watch. In season two, the network will build on the fan excitement for Ben 10 by expanding its multi-screen world to include new console and mobile games along with a host of other immersive experiences.

Ben Tennyson, his cousin Gwen and Grandpa Max will embark on their greatest summer vacation ever during the second season. The heroic adventures will continue as Ben meets new aliens, friends and foes while discovering exciting twists and surprises within his Omnitrix! New episodes will premiere in Australia and New Zealand every Saturday from June 10 at 8am.

The popular and long-running video game franchise – Mega Man is getting a brand new animated series and will be premiering on Cartoon Network USA some time in the near future. News about a broadcasting rights deal between DHX Media and Cartoon Network USA was announced today in a press release. The new animated series is a DHX Media and Dentsu Entertainment co-production and is based on the infamous Capcom property. The new 3D CGI series will go into production this summer at DHX Media’s animation studio in Vancouver, the show will be written and executively produced by Man of Action Entertainment (Duncan Rouleau, Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, and Steven T. Seagle), creators of Cartoon Network’s Ben 10 and Generator Rex, in collaboration with DHX Media and Dentsu Entertainment. No proposed broadcast date has been set yet for the new series.

The new animated series will follow Mega Man’s alter-ego – Aki Light, Aki is an ordinary schoolboy robot who has nano-core technology that gives him the ability to transform himself into Mega Man. With his Mega Buster arm cannon and iconic helmet, Mega Man battles the wickedest villains Silicon City has to offer, while keeping his true identity a secret. The new show will also feature familiar characters such as Mega Man’s robotic dog – Rush as well as new characters such as Mega Mini and Suna Light.

The Mega Man franchise originated from a series of video games, first launched in 1987 by Japanese video games company – Capcom. Each Mega Man game features battles fought by the eponymous blue robot which eventually leads up to a final battle (in most cases) against his arch-nemesis – Dr. Wily. Capcom has released over 130 Megaman video games on multiple gaming platforms, selling over 31 million copies worldwide, as well as several Megaman themed toys, comics and collectables.

DHX Media will manage worldwide distribution and licensing with exception to Asia, in Asia, distribution and licensing will be handled by Dentsu.
