Cartoon Network Poland Love Cartoon Network Campaign

Cartoon Network Poland has started a campaign and competition called “Love Cartoon Network” that encourages children and their families to re-enact their favourite moments from their favourite cartoons on the channel. Competition winners will get to see themselves on the Cartoon Network TV channel. Competition entrants can submit as many videos as they like, but each video must be less than five minutes long. Cartoon Network are looking for the most creative and funniest entries, the best videos will be selected by a jury and will be shown on the channel.

Obvious but very important disclaimer:

Remember, cartoons are over-exaggerated and some scenes/actions in cartoons can be incredibly dangerous if attempted in real life, please use some common sense and be careful.

Terms and conditions can be read via the link on the Love Cartoon Network microsite, a consent form must be downloaded from the competition microsite, filled in by a parent or guardian, and uploaded onto the competition submission form. Competition ends 31st December 2017.

Major Japanese video-game company – Nintendo has partnered with Cartoon Network USA for a marketing campaign to help promote games for their latest video games console – the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo has uploaded videos onto its YouTube channel featuring the three tech and social media loving bears – Grizzy, Panda and Ice Bear from We Bare Bears trying out two of Nintendo’s newest games – the unusual motion control boxing game ARMS and the fun multiplayer ink-splat shooter – Splatoon 2. The Nintendo Switch is a hybrid game console, it can be used as as portable device or as a conventional console. Much like Cartoon Network, Nintendo is known for its family-friendly entertainment, making it an ideal partnership. Remember, games are supposed to be fun, please don’t be a sore loser like Nom Nom. 😀

Personally, as a Nintendo Switch owner and a Cartoon Network fan, the advertising campaign is pretty cool. 🙂

Cartoon Network Africa Wins A SABRE Gold Award For Cartoon Network Buddy Network

Cartoon Network Africa has won an African SABRE (Superior Achievement in Branding, Reputation & Engagement) Gold Award in the Public Education category for their anti-bullying campaign – Cartoon Network Buddy Network. The initiative encourages children to be friendly to each other and report and speak out against bullying in schools. Cartoon Network Buddy Network was rolled out for the first time in Africa last year after a successful rollout in Europe.

In Africa, the campaign was developed in co-operation with Childline South Africa. Olympic gold medalist track and field sprinter, Wayde van Niekerk represented the campaign as a Buddy Network ambassador. The campaign made use of animation, video content and storytelling to inform kids about bullying and how they can put an end to it. The award was presented to Robyn De Villiers, chairman and CEO of Burson-Marsteller Africa (Cartoon Network’s PR agency for Africa) and Aude Bousseau, the marketing and PR manager of Turner Africa. Cartoon Network Africa has also won a 2017 African Excellence Award in the “Content Marketing” category for Buddy Network, the 2017 African Excellence Awards ceremony will take place on 29th June in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Cartoon Network also won an African SABRE Certificate of Excellence in the “Marketing an Existing Product to Consumers” for the relaunch of The Powerpuff Girls animated series in collaboration with jazz-electro-hip-pop musician – Toya Delazy. Toya specially produced a reworked version of The Powerpuff Girls 2016 reboot theme song for the African market and performed at the Powerpuff Girls Art Factory exhibit launch night in Cape Town, South Africa on 4th April this year.

Commenting on the awards, Pierre Branco, VP and managing director of Turner France, Portugal and Africa said:

“We here at Turner strive for excellence in everything that we do and constantly try to break boundaries in order to achieve great things.”

The 2017 African SABRE Awards were held last Thursday (11/05/2017) in Marrakesh, Morocco as part of the APRA (African Public Relations Association) annual conference.
