Audrey Diehl Appointed Vice President Of Series At Warner Bros Animation

Yesterday (09/11/2017), Warner Bros. Animation has announced that they have hired Audrey Diehl as their new Vice President of Series. The appointment was announced yesterday by the President of Warner Bros. Animation – Sam Register. In Audrey’s new role, she will oversee new programming and animated shows that are currently in production. Warner Bros. Animation is owned by Warner Bros, a sister company of Cartoon Network’s owner – Turner, both Cartoon Network and Boomerang are a home for animated productions by Warner Bros. Animation and the studio provides a considerable amount of content to both channels.

Before her new job at Warner Bros. Animation, Audrey worked for Nickelodeon for 14 years, her final role at the channel was VP of Animation Development and had that role since October 2013. During her time at Nickelodeon, Audrey helped to develop a variety of animated Nickelodeon shows including Sanjay and Craig, Harvey Beaks and Pig Goat Banana Cricket, she also had a creative executive role on shows made by external studios for Nickelodeon including El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, Fanboy & Chum Chum and The Penguins of Madagascar. She also was in charge of the development team and pilot development at Nickelodeon.

Regarding the appointment of Audrey Diehl as VP of Series at Warner Bros. Animation is currently producing thirteen different shows at the moment, mostly for Cartoon Network and Boomerang including Justice League Action, Teen Titans Go!, DC Super Hero Girls (Coming Soon to Cartoon Network USA), Unikitty! (Coming Soon to Cartoon Network USA), Be Cool Scooby-Doo!, Bunnicula, Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz, New Looney Tunes, The Tom and Jerry Show, Wacky Races, Mike Tyson Mysteries (Adult Swim), Green Eggs and Ham (Netflix) and Young Justice: Outsiders (for the new DC Comics Digital Service).

Today (28/06/2017), Turner Broadcasting System Europe has appointed Pierre Branco as the new SVP (Senior Vice President) of Turner Northern Europe (UK and Ireland, Nordics and Baltics), he replaces Ian McDonough who announced his resignation in April this year. Mr Branco is a long serving Turner EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) employee and has worked for the company since 2006, in his last role, he was the general manager for Turner’s channels in France, Portugal, Africa and Israel.

In his new role, Mr Branco will move from his old regional base in Paris to Turner EMEA’s headquarters in London, where he will report to Turner EMEA president, Giorgio Stock. Mr Branco will be working with the Turner Northern Europe team leaders including the head of UK Kids channels – Sean Gorman (manager of Cartoon Network UK, Boomerang UK and Cartoonito UK) and the general manager of Turner in Scandinavia – Bo Falk Østergaard as well as their respective teams.

During his time as general manager of Turner France, Portugal and Africa, he has introduced Turner’s action-animation channel brand – Toonami to France and Africa and launched variety animation channel Boing in Africa, he also oversaw a 12-channel children’s, news, movie and general entertainment portfolio in three different languages (French, Portuguese and English), including editorial and creative strategy, programming and acquisitions, marketing, production and digital functions.

Mr Branco’s wealth of experience while building the French, Portuguese and African part of the business can be used to develop and maintain the reputation of the Northern Europe part of the company, especially as Cartoon Network is currently the number one channel for boys in the UK and Denmark*. Meanwhile in France, Portugal and Africa, the SVP of Turner Southern Europe and Africa – Jaime Ondarza will be advising local teams until a replacement is found.

Turner EMEA today announced a significant internal promotion with the appointment of Pierre Branco to the role of SVP Northern Europe. Branco, who takes up the role with immediate effect from his present position as Turner’s GM for France, Portugal, Africa and Israel, will lead Turner’s business across the UK, Nordics and Baltics at a period of particularly fast paced change for the company. He will move to London from Paris in the coming months and will report directly to Turner EMEA President, Giorgio Stock, and joins his executive team.

Overseeing a senior management team who themselves bring a wealth of experience within the Northern European markets, Branco, a more than ten year Turner veteran behind some of the company’s fastest growing EMEA markets, will be responsible for leading the growth and development of Turner’s operations in the region. This includes its kids and general entertainment portfolio of Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Cartoonito, TCM and TNT brands, as well as the distribution of CNNI. He will be charged with identifying new areas for driving revenues and profits, overseeing P&L and ensuring consistency and strategy for the region, all through the lens of delivering branded experiences that drive fan engagement across the linear and non linear ecosystem.

Today (26/06/2017), Turner USA has promoted Richard Warren (previously executive vice president of content negotiations & strategy and associate general counsel) to president of Turner Content Distribution, in this role, Warren will now oversee all brand distribution, affiliate marketing, interactive television and business development for Turner USA’s ten entertainment, news and kids networks, this includes Cartoon Network and Boomerang, he will also continue his responsibilities of strategic planning, business operations, and legal and business affairs for Turner Content Distribution.

Mr Warren will be replacing Coleman Breland, who himself has been placed in a new created role as president of content experiences, he will continue his role as president of TCM (Turner Classic Movies) and the FilmStruck streaming service, in his new role, he will be responsible for new content distribution strategies outside of the traditional method of television distribution.

Turner has elevated Richard Warren to president of Turner Content Distribution (TCD) it was announced today by David Levy, president of Turner. Warren steps into the position previously held by Coleman Breland, who is taking on a newly created role as president, content experiences while continuing as president of TCM and FilmStruck. Both are based in Atlanta and will report to Levy.

In this expanded role, Warren will now oversee all brand distribution, affiliate marketing, interactive television and business development for Turner’s 10 domestic entertainment, news and kids networks as well as continued oversight of TCD’s strategic planning, business operations, and legal and business affairs.

Previously, Warren served as executive vice president of content negotiations & strategy and associate general counsel, where he led the company’s efforts in structuring and negotiating Turner’s linear and digital content agreements with its distribution partners, as well as oversaw the strategic planning, operations, distribution technology and TCD legal and business affairs teams.

“Rich is a tremendous leader and has played an integral role in the growth and success of Turner’s content distribution division for the past 17 years,” said Levy. “I have tremendous respect for Rich and I’m confident his extensive experience in the distribution space, and his relationships in the industry, as well as his strong and strategic deal-making abilities, will steer Turner to continued growth in the distribution space.”

In his new position, Breland will lead a cross-functional, company-wide initiative to explore new content strategies for business models both inside and outside the traditional TV ecosystem. In this capacity, Breland will work with business leaders across the company to develop a future-forward approach for Turner’s content portfolio that addresses rapidly shifting consumption behaviors, technology advancements, set-top-box evolution and disruption, to continue Turner’s leadership position in the evolving industry. He will remain responsible for oversight of TCM and FilmStruck, including the development of new distribution opportunities, digital brand extensions, e-commerce and direct-to-consumer engagement opportunities for both brands.
