Earlier today, in the middle of the night in Latin America, Boomerang finally re-branded, becoming the first feeds in the world to use the new branding. Over the last seven months, since the press release in February, there was a lot of speculation of what branding Boomerang will use, either the current ribbon logo and underground/underwater/land/space theme from Europe or the new logos that were recently trademarked by Turner as listed on the United States Patent Office as well as a new theme, it turned out it was the latter.
Since April, Boomerang Latin America has been in a transitional phase, it used to be a channel airing live action shows aimed at teenagers, but suddenly these shows were pushed to the night schedule leaving the rest of the schedule to be full of animated shows. The new Boomerang format is more inclined to family audiences, airing classics such as Scooby Doo and Tom and Jerry but also airing pre-school shows such as Lazy Town. Also today, Boomerang is running a marathon featuring shows in their new schedule as a preview of what’s to come.
This is Boomerang’s new logo, there isn’t an official high resolution image publicly available:
Here is some presentation of the new branding, the logo is black and white but the bumpers are ironically colourful, it’s similar to Cartoon Network’s current Check It 3.0 branding.
It is not currently known exactly when Boomerang USA or any other Boomerang feeds around the world will be re-branded, it has been announced that Boomerang USA will rebrand in late Autumn but a specific date hasn’t been given.
