Lego Announces Unikitty Building Sets At New York Toy Fair 2018

New York Toy Fair 2018 (also known as the American International Toy Fair) opened its doors yesterday (17/02/2018) at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, USA and LEGO has released a press release about their new toys this year, including some info about a brand new Unikitty building set and collectables range which will launch in August this year. The new Lego range is based on the famous unicorn cat from The Lego Movie who now has her very own animated series on Cartoon Network USA, the new show is now in the process of being rolled out onto international versions of Cartoon Network. The new Lego range will include five new building sets and a series on collectibles, Unikitty was originally created exclusively for The Lego Movie and she’s also a character in Lego’s “toys-to-life” game – Lego Dimensions. The animated series – Unikitty! is made by Warner Bros. Animation, in-conjunction with Lego for Cartoon Network.

As previously mentioned on the blog, Lego will be releasing two new Powerpuff Girls building sets in August featuring Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup and Lego will be continuing the Ninjago franchise with even more toy construction sets and two more seasons of Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu on Cartoon Network.

At the convention, Lego’s booth (#1335) can be found in Hall 3B, New York Toy Fair 2018 will run until Tuesday 20th February.

Cartoon Network UK Unikitty New Show Coming In March: Coming Soon To The Uni(ted) Kingdom!

Cartoon Network UK and Ireland has started airing a coming soon promo for a brand new show called Unikitty!, the new show will premiere in March. Unikitty is a much-loved and well-known character from The Lego Movie, she’s known for her optimism and joyfulness but also has a tendency to get really enranged. Unlike The Lego Movie which was made in 3D CGI (also with real Lego for a more realistic appearance) and like most Cartoon Network shows, Unikitty is animated in 2D.

In the new show, Unikitty is the ruler of her kingdom – the Unikingdom and she has a lot of royal responsibilities to carry out, her job is to make sure everyone is cheerful and to obliterate any form of negativity from her kingdom by spreading her positive attitude. Other characters in the brand new show include her little brother and best friend – Puppycorn, Dr. Fox, the castle’s resident scientist, and Unikitty’s bodyguard – Hawkodile. Together, Unikitty and her friends do their very best to make sure that every day is the happiest ever, no matter how creative and constructive or hilariously chaotic and destructive.

The show’s voice acting talent include Tara Strong (Teen Titans Go!), Grey Griffin (Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!), Kate Micucci (Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!), Roger Craig Smith (Regular Show), Eric Bauza (The Adventures of Puss in Boots) and H. Michael Croner (Review).

Unikitty! is produced by the same people behind The Lego Movie and The Lego Batman Movie (Dan Lin, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Roy Lee and Jill Wilfert), with Warner Bros. Animation president – Sam Register as Executive Producer. Aaron Horvath (Teen Titans Go!) is supervising producer on Unikitty and Edward Skudder (Dick Figures) and Lynn Wang (from Disney’s Star vs. Forces of Evil) serve as producers on the show. The new animated series marks the continuation of the long-running partnership between Cartoon Network/Warner Bros. and Lego, with recent shows such as Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, Mixels and Nexo Knights airing on Cartoon Network UK.

Uncle Grandpa is a magical uncle and grandpa to everyone. He travels around the world in an RV on a mission to help everyone he meets!

In these brand new episodes we see Uncle Grandpa embark on hilarious adventures. Including when he tries to help a cat who is afraid of taking baths, and when the RV is mysteriously sent back and forth through time. We also discover that Pizza Steve isn’t who they thought he was.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs: The Series takes place before giant food rains down on Swallow Falls, when sardines are still the driving force behind the blue-collar town’s booming economy. Flint Lockwood is a high school student who suffers from NFD: non-fish-related dreams. He strives to be a serious inventor in a world beyond sardines…and maybe one day have his inventions change the world instead of blowing up in his face.

Joining the cause is Sam Sparks—new girl in town and aspiring meteorologist. Flint and Sam come together for comedic adventures with all the great characters from the film: Flint’s dad, Tim; Flint’s lab assistant, Steve the monkey; Earl, the school’s busiest teacher; Manny, the head of the school’s audio-visual department; Brent, the local teenage celebrity and captain of the mascot team; and Mayor Shelbourne, who wins every election with a pro-sardine platform (and bribes…lots of bribes).

In the aftermath of the battle with the Hands of Time, the Ninja take turns searching for Wu while Zane temporarily fills their missing master’s role as record keeper by downloading his memories into the Samurai X computer. When Zane is unable to logout, he discovers the source of the malfunction – a mysterious PUZZLE BOX.

Zane is trapped in his own mind, and the only way for the Ninja to free him is to solve a series of puzzles inspired by their lives, their vehicles, and their battles. The Ninja must complete their digital trip down memory lane before they lose Zane – and possibly all of Ninjago – forever.

Join Barbie and her sisters Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea as they go on an adventure to a tropical island where Ken is doing a marine biology internship. While snorkeling, they discover a young dolphin trapped in an enclosure—but this isn’t just any dolphin, it’s a beautiful bright green Gemstone Dolphin! Barbie then meets a mysterious friend named Isla, who turns out to be a magical mermaid!

Soon after, the girls discover that the dolphin is being held by Marlo, the biologist Ken is interning with. Her intentions are to make money by exhibiting the dolphin for its unique traits. They must work together to free the dolphin so he can be reunited with his Gemstone Dolphin family before Marlo sends him away.
