During the Wondercon Comic-Con convention in Anaheim, California this weekend (Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th March), there were Warner Bros. Animation show panel events for Unikitty!, Teen Titans Go! and for the upcoming animated series coming soon to Cartoon Network – DC Super Hero Girls.

The first panel was for Unikitty!. Show producers, Ed Skudder and Lynn Wang; art director Andrea Fernandez; animation director Anna Hollingsworth and voice actors Roger Craig Smith (Hawkodile) and Eric Bauza (Master Frown) were all present at the panel. A new episode sneak peek was shown at the panel and there was an opportunity for fans of the show to ask questions. There was an opportunity for fans to get an autograph too.

Next up was the panel for one of Cartoon Network USA’s most popular shows – Teen Titans Go!, the show’s producers Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic and the voice of Beast Boy – Greg Cipes were at the panel, in front of a packed audience. Also yesterday, Warner Bros. Pictures released the shortened television advert version of the Teen Titans Go! To The Movies trailer, the advert includes some never-before-seen footage featuring the superhero – Green Lantern voiced by rapper – Lil Yachty.

Finally, there was the panel for the new series – DC Super Hero Girls. Attending the panel were: Anais Fairweather (voice of Super Girl), Yancey Labat (DC Super Hero Girls graphic novels illustrator), Monica Kubina (DC Super Hero Girls graphic novels colorist) and Shea Fontana (DC Super Hero Girls writer). A brand new animated series based on the DC franchise is being developed by Lauren Faust (The Powerpuff Girls (original series), Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic) and it will premiere on Cartoon Network USA this year, a special episode based on the franchise – DC Super Hero Girls: Super Hero High has already aired on Cartoon Network in the U.S. and on Boomerang in the UK, also there’s an animated short web series which is now in its fourth season, all web episodes can be viewed for free on the DC Super Hero Girls YouTube channel.

Cartoon Network Panel At Fast Company Innovation Festival 2017 In New York

Today (24/10/2017), there was a breakfast Cartoon Network panel event at the Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York, the panel was about creative thinking and how it can help the next generation who will face future challenges that will need fresh ideas to solve them, this includes teaching technology in schools such as computer programming and to encourage children’s creativity. The panel was called “Cartoon Network on Why the Future Belongs to Creative Thinkers” and featured a team of technology and creative experts along with the president of Cartoon Network – Christina Miller.

Professionals present at the panel include Saxs Persson, Creative Director for Minecraft; Mitch Resnick, LEGO Papert Professor of Learning Research at MIT Media Lab; Adam Leibsohn, Chief Operating Officer at GIPHY; Zach Klein, co-founder of DIY.org and Limor Fried, Engineer and Founder at Adafruit Industries. Cartoon Network have been working with MIT Media Lab, DIY.org and Mojang (the makers of the creative sandbox game – Minecraft) to encourage creative thinking among school children, which includes using the graphical programming language – Scratch or creating worlds and using command blocks and logic circuits in Minecraft either at school or in their free time.

As mentioned at the panel and in order to help the next generation, we must start focusing on kids so they can gradually change the world when they get older and to stop discouraging kids out of subjects and hobbies that they’re passionate about and interested in. Christina Miller also mentioned that creating interactive worlds and not just television shows will help foster kids’ creativity.

Meet The Creators Of Steven Universe, Summer Camp Island And OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes At The Paley Center This Saturday 21st October

The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles will be running a special event this Saturday (21st October) at midday as part of its exhibition to celebrate Cartoon Network’s 25th Anniversary. Rebecca Sugar (creator of Steven Universe), Ian Jones-Quartey (OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes) and Julia Pott (creator of a brand new Cartoon Network show coming in 2018 – Summer Camp Island) will be at a panel called “The Creator’s Journey”, which will be about the show creators themselves and a behind-the-scenes look at Steven Universe, OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes, and Summer Camp Island. The panel is a free event on a RSVP basis organised by The Paley Center. The panel will be moderated by Michael Schneider, Executive Editor of IndieWire and Editor At Large at Variety.

The Cartoon Network 25th Anniversary exhibition will run at The Paley Center in Los Angeles until 19th November 2017, the exhibition was already held at The Paley Center’s New York branch between 16th September and 8th October 2017, which also coincided with New York Comic-Con 2017.
