Cartoon Network India, Asia’s largest DTH (direct-to-home) satellite television operator Dish TV and French interactive television games developer Visiware have partnered up to develop games based on Cartoon Network’s popular animated shows for DishTV’s PlayZone Active games service on channel 967.

The new eight games will be based on Adventure Time, Ben 10, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, The Powerpuff Girls, Regular Show and locally produced animated show – Roll No.21. The games will be rotated on a monthly basis with one new game refreshed every month. Also, players can resume playing at any level by using the access code provided at the end of each level on a selection of games. The new service launched this month and will be free for the first month with a Rs.40 per month charge afterwards.

DishTV, Asia’s largest direct-to-home (DTH) brand has strengthened their partnership with Visiware International, the leader in games for interactive television to launch Cartoon Network games in partnership with Cartoon Network India, the most loved kids’ channel in India.

Cartoon Network TV games, accessible on channel no. 967 within “PlayZone Active” on the DishTV platform, offers 8 games branded under the much loved and immensely popular major cartoon characters amongst kids, who lead the Cartoon Network portfolio– Ben 10, Powerpuff Girls and Roll No. 21. A variety of games will be available under each of these characters to enhance the player’s experience and get them to engage closer with their favourite toons.

The games will be rotated on a monthly basis with one game refreshed every month. What more, the player can resume playing at any level using the access code provided at the end of each level on a selection of games. The service is available from May 2017 to all Dish TV subscribers on Channel 967. This service will be available for free preview to all DishTV subscribers for one month post which the service will be charged Rs.40 (including taxes) per month.

In November, a new OTT (Over The Top) internet television service in France called Molotov TV will launch the beta version of their television service. Molotov TV have already signed a deal with Turner Broadcasting System Europe for Cartoon Network France, Boomerang France, Boing France and other Turner channels such as TCM and CNN to be distributed via the new platform.

An OTT service can be accessed by PC’s, mobile phones and tablets that have a connection to the internet, the linear TV channels on the service are streamed via an internet connection. This means no specialist equipment such as a decoder box are required and OTT services are flexible as users can usually activate and deactivate their subscription anytime they wish. Molotov TV isn’t the only OTT service out there, there’s NOW TV in the UK, Magine in Scandinavia and Germany (with a UK beta version) and Sling TV in the United States.

In other news: VUTV, a UK based OTT service that can be accessed through internet enabled Freeview boxes will end their service tomorrow (22/10/2015), their service also carried Cartoon Network UK, Boomerang UK and Cartoonito UK. Other pay-TV services that carry Turner’s channels in the UK and Ireland will not be affected.
