Cartoon Network Enterprises Announces New Product Licensees, New Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10, Steven Universe And We Bare Bears Merchandise Coming Soon

During this week (Tuesday 22nd to Thursday 24th May) was the 2018 Licensing Expo in Las Vegas and Cartoon Network Enterprises has been busy making deals and have added some new product licensees for some of its most popular properties such as the The Powerpuff Girls, We Bare Bears and Adventure Time.

The Powerpuff Girls is celebrating its 20th anniversary as a full series this year, with the promise of new episodes, events and products that will continue into next year. In terms of new product licensing partnerships for Cartoon Network’s The Powerpuff Girls property, Champion has made a deal to launch a limited-edition collection in fleece and heritage silhouettes which will be released in Autumn 2018. Mondo Tees will introduces a range of Powerpuff Girls themed pins and high-end print and Mattel will launch a Powerpuff Girls Barbie fashions range which will be available worldwide ready for Christmas 2018.

In Latin America, Brazilian flip-flop sandals brand – Havaianas will be releasing Powerpuff Girls themed products for kids and adults from July this year. During this month, personal-care products company – Cremer will launch a range of Powerpuff Girls products. Personalised book company – Dentro da Historia will be launching personalised Powerpuff Girls children’s books this month. Coconut water brand – Amazonia will be launching a Powerpuff Girls themed drink very soon.

Over in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), there will be more Powerpuff Girls themed clothing. Cartoon Network Enterprises has made deals with Sabrina Pilewicz (women’s handbags in Poland), Undiz (nightwear and underwear in France, Germany, Poland, Spain, Russia and the Middle East) and Textiss (a nightwear and underwear product-line in France). British fashion designer Katie Eary will launch a premium clothing collection available worldwide this Autumn, the same collection was unveiled at London Fashion Week in February. Bizuu will be introducing a new Powerpuff Girls athleisure collection in Poland.

For Cartoon Network’s Ben 10, FAB Starpoint has signed up to produce Ben 10 themed backpacks. For We Bare Bears, appropriately named skateboard apparel and accessories – Grizzly Griptape has signed up as a licensee, Toy Factory has made a deal to produce plush toys, Funko has made a deal to make We Bare Bears Funko POP! vinyl figures and Concept One Accessories has agreed to offer We Bare Bears accessories, luggage and bags.

PopSockets has signed up to offer Steven Universe accessories, while Accutime has made a deal to expand its Adventure Time watch range.

This Saturday (17th February) is the opening day of the American International Toy Fair 2018 convention in New York (17th to 20th February) and Cartoon Network will be announcing some brand new toys based on some of their most important brands including Adventure Time, Ben 10, Steven Universe, We Bare Bears and also The Powerpuff Girls which will have its 20th anniversary this year.

For Ben 10, Playmates Toys will introducing new action figures, feature-driven deluxe vehicles and role-play toys. Fancy dress clothing company – Rubie’s will be launching Ben 10 roleplay outfits this autumn and Ben 10 Halloween costumes and accessories will be available from August. Also, Toy Factory will be offering plush toys for amusement venues and other family entertainment centres.

Lego will be releasing two new Powerpuff Girls building sets in August featuring Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, the super trio already had their Lego debut with the release of Powerpuff Girls Lego Dimensions packs.

Monogram Direct will be releasing We Bare Bears 3D Foam Key Ring Blind bags. In May, Tastemakers will introduce a range of tactile collectables called Steven Universe Micro Pozers. Kidrobot will release new Adventure Time products in April including an Adventure Time Fresh 2 Death Mini Series and a BMO Medium Figure.

During this week (12th February to 15th February) in Miami, Florida, USA is the annual Kidscreen Summit. The Kidscreen Summit is organised by children’s media news website – Kidscreen, and is a yearly gathering of the children’s television and digital media industry from inside and outside the United States.

Today (13th February) and alongside the summit is the annual Kidscreen Awards ceremony, this year, Cartoon Network USA’s VP Content Acquisitions & Co-Productions – Adina Pitt and CN’s VP of Product Management – Beau Teague will be two of the judges for this year’s awards. Studio Hari’s Grizzy and the Lemmings has been nominated for Best Animated Show, the show airs on Boomerang’s international feeds.

Yesterday (12/02/2018), Adina was a speaker at the “Broadcaster to Broadcaster: Focus on 6 to 11s” panel, which was about the current state of kids content between the ages of six and eleven years old what it means for producers and linear and non-linear platforms, at the session, Adina emphasised that great storytelling will always be more valued to its audience in comparison to the actual method of how the content is viewed, today she had her own thirty-minute Q&A session and she was also present at the “Picking Platforms: What’s the best vehicle for your project and how do you get it there?” panel.

The Shaw Rocket Fund, a non-profit organisation that invests into children’s television in Canada has announced that Cartoon Network UK and Cartoon Network Africa have acquired the broadcasting rights to one of Canada’s latest animated shows – Wishfart. Kidscreen named Wishfart as “a cool new show”.
