Cartoon Network USA’s Brand New Steven Universe Podcast
Today (20/07/2017), Cartoon Network USA uploaded the first episode of their brand new Steven Universe podcast onto iTunes. The brand new podcast is presented by Cartoon Network intern – McKenzie Atwood, previously she has worked for Cartoon Network Games, Cartoon Network’s social media department and is now working for Cartoon Network Studios. In each episode, McKenzie will interview the show’s cast and the Crewniverse (the nickname for Steven Universe’s production team).
The first interview on the podcast is with the show’s creator – Rebecca Sugar and her brother – Steven Sugar who was the inspiration for the show’s title character and also works as a background artist on the show. During the podcast, Rebecca and Steven talk about their childhood and their times playing video games and watching anime together. In the episode, they reveal the origins of some of Steven Universe’s imagery, characters, backgrounds and music. In the podcast, Rebecca and Steven mention that they’re interested in fan theories about the show and they reveal how the movie – Hotel Transylvania and Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time led to the creation of Steven Universe.
